This Bites: Urban Market, Glass + Griddle and Indian Summer

Food news you can use, banter that might make you laugh.

Boy, have we got an episode of This Bites for you this week (Fridays, 8 a.m.; 88Nine Radio Milwaukee). Tarik and I both like a good grocery store, and early next year, Downtown MKE shoppers are going to have a new option: Urban Market, which is going to open in the fancy new 7SEVENTY7 apartment building on Van Burn and Mason streets.  This full-service grocery store will be run by a Madison company that specializes in supermarkets in urban areas. Learn why that’s important.

If you like beer ‒ really like it ‒ you might know that MKE Brewing Co. opened its second facility on the old Pabst brewery ground. The development includes a new restaurant, Glass + Griddle, which is offering a lot more than bar food. Hear about that.

Also in The This Bites segment rotation: the Tomato Romp on Saturday, Sept. 8, and the fare you can get this weekend (Sept. 7-9) at Indian Summer on the Summerfest grounds.
