This Bites: Pink Wines, Uncle Wolfie’s and the new Stone Creek

A preview of the dining stories in Mil Mag’s June issue, plus Uncle Wolfie’s Breakfast Tavern Pop-up and the new Stone Creek Coffee on Downer Avenue.

It’s Memorial Day weekend! (Pre-)summer fun is upon us. On the latest This Bites, on 88Nine Radio Milwaukee, Tarik and I talk all about food-related fun. First up, the June issue of Milwaukee Magazine, which includes coverage of great rosés to buy this summer, the return of the Nite Owl drive-in for the season, and the lady pastry chef owners of Batches Bakery and Miss Molly’s Cafe and Pastry Shop

Other things on This Bites’ radar: the upcoming Uncle Wolfie’s Breakfast Tavern pop-up at Amilinda. Also, the new Stone Creek Coffee opened on May 25 on Downer Avenue. You’ll hear more about the food menu in place only at this location. Tarik also talks about his visit to the new Char’d Korean Bar and Grill in the Third Ward.

Ann Christenson has covered dining for Milwaukee Magazine since 1997. She was raised on a diet of casseroles that started with a pound of ground beef and a can of Campbell's soup. Feel free to share any casserole recipes with her.
