On the latest episode of This Bites on 88Nine Radio Milwaukee, the very first topic on your hosts’ minds is steak. And specifically steak at MKE’s new Saint Kate Arts Hotel. A few of the on-premises restaurants opened when the hotel debuted in early June. But one took a little extra time. That’s the steakhouse called The Dark Room or T.D.R. Very little was revealed about it, giving it the feel of a restaurant very much on the down-low. But it’s open now. And like Aria and Giggly Champagne Bar, it’s located on the second floor. We talk about the menu and this spot’s more secretive side.

You may recall that Bacchus has been closed for renovations for much of the summer. This refresh is a prelude to the Bartolotta-owned restaurant’s 15th anniversary. Monday Sept. 16 is the re-opening date. Along with some interior changes to the bar, dining room and the conservatory, you can expect to see some new menu offerings from executive chef Nick Wirth. Fine and Dandy Fried Chicken is the name of the restaurant former SURG Restaurant Group chef Jarvis Williams will open at 3rd Street Market Hall next year, if all goes as planned. In the meantime, the fried chicken joint is doing Sunday night pop-ups at Bass Bay Brewhouse in Muskego. The Sunday Supper features a couple different dining options, including family style.
