17 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: June 6-9

A busy week for craft beer culminates with one of Milwaukee’s best events, the venerable Locust Street Music and Arts Festival.

Thursday, June 6

Draft & Vessel (7479 Harwood Ave.) marks the 15th anniversary of Half Acre Daisy Cutter. The standout pale ale, and a few variants, will be pouring from 4 to 10 p.m.

The first show of the Third Space Presents, the music series at Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.), is happening from 6 to 8 p.m. Moonglow is playing and taps Sounds of Summer, a rice lager, are just $5. The free music series happens every Thursday in the summer.

Lake Vista Park (4001 Lake Vista Pkwy.) is the site of the Oak Creek Beer Garden 5K. Packed pickup starts at 5:30 p.m. and the run is at 6:30 p.m. The $40 entry fee includes a post race beverage from Raised Grain Brewing.

Friday, June 7

Raised Grain Brewing’s Pop-Up Beer Garden lands at Mukwonago Park (S100 W31900, County Hwy LO). Hours are 4 to 9 p.m. on Friday and 3 to 9 p.m. on Saturday.

Saturday, June 8

Beer on the Bridge comes to The 024 Bar (1300 14th Ave., Grafton) and includes more than 40 beer vendors. The tasting runs from noon to 4 p.m. and costs $65.

City Lights Brewing (2200 W. Mt. Vernon Ave.) hosts Brews and Buds, a fundraiser for the Great Midwest Hemp Fest, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The day includes all sorts of activities like free brewery tours, music, art and more.

The Wisconsin Brewery Running Series hosts a 5K run at Big Head Brewing (6204 W. State St.) at 11 a.m. Cost is $35 and includes a post-run beverage.

It’s Family Fun Day at The Tap Yard – West Bend. This means a bounce house, face painting and more fun for the kids. Beer will still be there for the adults. It’s also Taco Fest, which means there will be plenty of delicious food trucks to choose from.

It’s the one-year anniversary of Roxz’s Resources, a group that provides food and pet resources to those in need. They’re throwing a party at Component Brewing (2018 S. 1st St.) from 3 to 7 p.m. Bring your dog if you’d like, and if you come with a donation the first beer is free.

The weekly release at Hacienda Beer Co. (2018 E. North Ave.) is Excited to Be Here, a Kölsch-style beer.

Try samples from Hop Valley Brewing Company at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from noon to 2 p.m.

Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) has samples from Third Space Brewing (noon to 2 p.m.) and Hop Valley (2:30 to 4:30 p.m.).

Sunday, June 9

The 45th Locust Street Music & Arts Festival is happening, and along with it, the Locust Street Beer Run. One of Milwaukee’s greatest beer events features a modest 1.6-mile jog through Riverwest, complete with four beer stops. The fun starts at 11:30 a.m. and costs $25.

The Tap Yard – Waukesha (1927 E. Sunset Dr.) has a Three Floyds tap takeover at 2 p.m. The tap list includes Zombie Dust and a Dark Lord Imperial Stout variant.

Draft & Vessel is unveiling its new urban beer garden, the Giving Tree Garage (902 S. 2nd St.), at noon for the Pride Parade.

June 14: Guitar City Days, the annual fundraiser hosted by Raised Grain Brewing (1725 Dolphin Dr., Waukesha), happens on June 14 and June 15. Ray’s Wine & Spirits (8930 W. North Ave.) celebrates 10 years of having a bar on site. That’s a good thing.

June 15: Tickets are on sale for Eagle Park Brewing’s Seventh Anniversary Party. The festivities include three anniversary beer releases. Component Brewing is throwing a party for its sixth anniversary and also plans to release three special beers.

Make the trip to Sheboygan for another big anniversary party. 3 Sheeps Brewing is celebrating an amazing 12 years with a party and the release of a couple of barrel-aged gems.

June 22: The popular Lager & Friends beer fest returns to Gathering Place Brewing (811 E. Vienna Ave.). Across town, Cheers Fest Pride is happening at Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.).
