Spring Beer Fest at The Landing at Hoyt Park is one great way to usher in the new season.

Wednesday, Apr. 24

The weekly release at 1840 Brewing Co. (342 E. Ward St.) is Kidding Season, a maibock with a respectable 6.9% ABV. Try it at the taproom all week or bring it home on Saturday.

Thursday, Apr. 25

Draft & Vessel (4417 N. Oakland Ave.) hosts another Battle of the Breweries pitting Third Space Brewing against Working Draft Beer Company. From 6 to 8 p.m., and for the small cost of $45, customers can sample seven flights in a blind taste test and choose their favorite.

Bavarian Bierhaus (700 W. Lexington Blvd.) is having its annual Bier Dinner at 6 p.m. Five courses will be paired with five beers. Tickets are $60.

Friday, Apr. 26

Torzala Brewing Company (2018 S. 1st St.) celebrates the NFL draft with a big party at 4:30 p.m. Hang with LeRoy Butler and Gary Ellerson, be a part of the Leap 36 podcast, and try a newly released beer. Space is limited and tickets are $150.

Sahale Ale Works takes over the taps at the Shorewood Draft & Vessel from 4 to 7 p.m.

Try samples from Gathering Place Brewing, Modelo and Pacifico at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from 3 to 5 p.m.

Eagle Park Brewing is offering samples at Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) from 3 to 5 p.m.

Saturday, Apr. 27

Spring Beer Fest comes to The Landing at Hoyt Park (1800 N. Swan Blvd.) from 1 to 4 p.m. For $30 you can sample more than 40 beers from local and national breweries.

Black Husky Brewing (909 E. Locust St.) will feature strong people lifting heavy things during the Tim-vitational. The strongman competition starts at noon and includes seven competitors and three different events.

The Wisconsin Brewery Running Series returns to Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) for a 5K at 11 a.m. Tickets start at $35 and include a beer after you’ve crossed the finish line.

New Barons Brewing Co-op (2018 S. 1st St.) is releasing Dan’s Trash, a rotbier, from 5 to 9 p.m.

The weekly release at Hacienda Beer Co. (2018 E. North Ave.) is DDH Everything Eventually, made with Motueka hops.

Central Waters Brewing hands out samples at Discount Liquor Milwaukee from noon to 2 p.m.

Sunday, Apr. 28

The Walker’s Point Makers Market & Bar Hop features vendors at five locations where libations are served. Indeed Brewing (530 S. 2nd St.), Broken Bat Brewing (135 E. Pittsburgh Ave.), The Laughing Tap (706 S. 5th St.), MobCraft (505 S. 5th St.) and Great Lakes Distillery (616 W. Virginia St.). 

Monday, Apr. 29

Noble Catering hosts a Belgian beer dinner at Vault (111 E. Kilbourn Ave.) from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets for the five-course dinner are $98.

May 19: Maifest: Gluten-Free Festival comes to Lakefront Brewery. Enjoy gluten-free beverages and food.

May 29: Third Space’s Beer School covers the topic of sour beers.
