Beer Events Brewing This Week in Milwaukee: Feb. 19-23

Ray’s Wine & Spirits thumbs its nose at winter by hosting a big block party that marks the end of a busy week of beer events.

Wednesday, Feb. 19

Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.) hosts a charity bingo night along with a tap takeover by Third Space Brewing. Bingo rounds start at 6 and 8 p.m. and there are some great prizes available for winners. Proceeds benefit Camp Kindred.

The Milwaukee Beer Society is pairing eight different Girl Scout cookies with beer. Head to Best Place (917 W. Juneau Ave.) at 6 p.m. to join them.

Black Husky Brewing is taking over a few of the taps at Doc’s Commerce Smokehouse (754 N. Vel R. Phillips Ave.) at 5 p.m.


Thursday, Feb. 20

Brazil’s Lohn Bier takes over some of the taps at Draft & Vessel (4417 N. Oakland Ave.) from 6 to 9 p.m.


Friday, Feb. 21

Hops for Hearts comes to the Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory (524 S. Layton Blvd.) from 7 to 10 p.m. For $65 you can pair craft beer from breweries like 1840 Brewing, Black Husky and New Glarus with small plates. There will also be a raffle and silent auction. Proceeds benefit Project Bubaloo, and its mission to help those with congenital heart disease.

Hacienda Beer Co. (2018 E. North Ave.) has a pair of can releases planned. Grab Stop, Don’t Come Back Pale Wheat Lager or Everything Eventually Citral Pale Ale.

Try samples from Bell’s Brewery (3 to 6 p.m.) and Hinterland (4 to 7 p.m.) at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.).

Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) hands out samples from 4 Hands from 3 to 6 p.m.


Saturday, Feb. 22

The Sugar Maple (441 E. Lincoln Ave.) hosts a benefit for Mike Romans from 2 to 6 p.m. Expect some good beers and great raffle items.

Good City Brewing’s Seek the Good Saturday takes volunteers to the Next Door Foundation (2545 N. 29th St.) for some altruism from 9 to 11 a.m. After you’re done helping to sort and repair donated books, you’ll get a free beer at Good City’s Century City office.

Plan on bagels for breakfast at Gathering Place Brewing (811 E. Vienna Ave.). The place opens early at 10 a.m. and $1 from all pint and bagel sales will be donated to the Miracle League of Milwaukee.

Try samples from Bell’s at Discount Liquor Waukesha from noon to 3 p.m.


Sunday, Feb. 23

Ray’s hosts another Wükfinter fest from noon to 6 p.m., and if you’re a fan of 3 Floyds Brewing you’ll want to be there. The standout brewery is bringing more than 20 different brews to the party. They’re also bringing food, so you really have no reason to leave once you get there.
