Beer Events Brewing This Week in Milwaukee: Dec. 2-9

Gathering Place Brewing hosts a big new beer release, Champps Americana taps one of the best rare beer lineups of the year, and plenty more beer fun to choose from.

Monday, Dec. 2

Lakefront Brewery (1872 N. Commerce St.) celebrates its 32nd birthday by rolling tap prices back 32 years to $2. Yep. The 80s return to Milwaukee at 11 a.m.

Tuesday, Dec. 3

Head to Sugar Maple (441 E. Lincoln Ave.) and bring a toy to donate. Fittingly, the bar will be pouring Upland Brewing Teddy Bear Kisses Russian Imperial Stout.

Beers from Pequod Distribution come to The Brass Tap (7808 W. Layton Ave.) at 5 p.m. The tap list includes good stuff from the likes of Drekker, Aslin, Untitled Art and The Brewing Projekt.

Wednesday, Dec. 4

The Milwaukee Beer Society takes a field trip to the Fermentorium Barrrel House (6933 W. North Ave.) at 6 p.m.

Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) hosts an ugly sweater party from 4 to 9 p.m. Bring a new or gently-used coat to donate to Coat for Kid and get your first beer free.

Thursday, Dec. 5

The Brass Tap gets festive with the Beers of Christmas tap event at 5 p.m. Get into the holiday spirit with the likes of Revolution Fistmas and Three Floyds Alpha Klaus.

Friday, Dec. 6

Gathering Place Brewing (811 E. Vienna Ave.) releases The Wonderworker Biere de Garde in bottles and on tap, starting at 3 p.m. They’ll also be pouring a 2018 vintage aged in Chardonnay barrels and a 2017 Wonderworker from the cellar.

Central Waters and Point Brewery are handing out samples at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from 4 to 7 p.m.

Try samples from Founders at Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) from 3 to 6 p.m.

The Ice Bear Baltic Porter returns to Third Space at 2 p.m. The beer will hit the tap lines and be available in six-packs.

Saturday, Dec. 7

The yearly anniversary party at Champps Americana (1240 S. Moorland Rd.) has become the stuff of legend. The beer list this year lives up to the hype and includes a slew of barrel-aged rarities, outstanding IPAs and everything in between.

Head to Milwaukee Brewing Company (1128 N. 9th St.) at 11 a.m. for the release of Louie’s Cherry Bounce Barrel-Aged Amber. the beer, aged in brandy barrels with Door County tart cherries, will be available in four-packs and it’ll be on tap.

Find a new best friend at the dog adoption event happening at Component Brewing (2018 S. 1st St.) from 1 to 4 p.m. Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission (MADACC) will be there with a few canines looking for homes. To keep with the theme, Component is releasing a Puppy Chow Porter made with peanut butter, chocolate and vanilla.

Show off your chili-making skills at Sahale Ale Works (1505 Wisconsin Ave., Grafton) from 3 to 6 p.m. Chili for Charity benefits Family Sharing of Ozaukee County, which feeds local families. Email Sahale at to enter your recipe. You get two free beer pours if you do, and a chance at winning prizes.

Black Husky Brewing (909 E. Locust St.) puts a sarcastically festive twist on the traditional beer tour. At 6 p.m., Black Husky ups the ante on its so called Milwaukee’s Worst Tour, but adding Christmas carols from the brewery’s staff. For $15 you get the tour, beer samples, a pint glass to take home and an earful of Christmas favorites.

Tyranena is offering samples at Discount Liquor Milwaukee from noon to 3 p.m.

Try beer from City Lights (noon to 3 p.m.) and Revolution (2 to 4 p.m.) at Discount Liquor Waukesha.

Sunday, Dec. 9

Lakefront Brewery and Brew City Yarns host Brews N’ Knits starting at noon. For $45 you get an extended tour of Lakefront, three beer tokens an a free gift from Brew City Yarns. A pop-up shop by the Knitting Knook offers plenty of yarn options. Get your knit on.
