Beer Events Brewing This Week: July 2-8

Beer events slow to a crawl over the Fourth of July week. Take the time to be patriotic with your beer choices and give local breweries some love. After the festivities are over, head to Burnhearts to check out their new beer patio.

Monday, July 2

Try samples from Goose Island (4 to 7 p.m.) and Sam Adams (4 to 6 p.m.) at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.).

Tuesday, July 3

Bell’s Brewery hands out samples from 1 to 4 p.m. at Discount Liquor Milwaukee.

Chicago is the theme at Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) as Goose Island (11 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and Revolution (11 a.m. to 2 p.m.) hand out samples.

Friday, July 6

Big news for fans of Burnhearts (2599 S. Logan Ave.). The cozy craft beer spot is adding an outdoor patio. The kickoff party starts at 3 p.m. Expect the patio to be open from 3 p.m. to midnight daily and open at noon on weekends. Foxfire food truck will also set up shop this summer from 4 p.m. to midnight from Wednesday to Saturday.

Vintage Brewing and One Barrel Brewing take over the taps at Milwaukee’s Craft Beer Garden at Humboldt Park (3000 S. Howell Ave.) from 6 to 9 p.m.

Ale Asylum hands out samples at Discount Liquor Milwaukee from 3 to 6 p.m.

Karben4 hands out samples at Discount Liquor Waukesha from 4 to 6 p.m.

Saturday, July 7

Sample beers from New Holland (noon to 2 p.m.) and Oskar Blues (3 to 5 p.m.) at Discount Liquor Milwaukee.

Try samples from Ale Asylum at Discount Liquor Waukesha from noon to 3 p.m.

Sunday, July 8

The Fermentorium (7481 Highway 60, Cedarburg) hosts Pilates and Pints at 11 a.m. For $15 you get a workout and two drink tokens. Bring a mat.

Homebrewers should head to Sugar Maple (441 E. Lincoln Ave.) at 4 p.m. for a bottle share. Bring two bottles of your best homebrew and see how they stand up to others. The cost is $10 to join the competition and $20 if you’re just there to taste. Proceeds go to charity.
