Beer Events Brewing This Week: June 20-24

Beer dinners, tastings and a dinner with “legends” at the Five O’Clock Steakhouse are all in the works this week.

Tuesday, June 20

Erv’s Mug (130 W. Ryan Rd.) hosts a Lakefront Brewery beer dinner with a few excellent pairings. Call 414-762-5010 for more info.

Wednesday, June 21

Head to Camino (434 S. 2nd St.) to try some limited brews from Sierra Nevada’s Beer Camp at 7 p.m.

The Milwaukee Beer Society returns after a week off by sampling great beers from Surly Brewing. The tasting at Best Place (901 W. Juneau Ave.) runs from 6 to 9 p.m.

Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) hosts MKE Beer Geek’s Summer Beer Class. Starting at 6:30 p.m. you can learn about beer and sample five different Third Space brews. Sound good? Tickets are $25.

Try brews from the Explorium Brewpub without making a trip to the south side. The brewery takes over the taps at Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.) starting at 5 p.m.

Lagunitas is the guest of honor at the latest beer dinner at Tess (2499 N. Bartlett Ave.). The five-course dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. and costs $58. Call 414-964-8377 to make a reservation.

Thursday, June 22

The release party for the latest Lakefront SMaSH Ale takes place at The Garage (1709 N. Arlington Pl.) at 7 p.m. This one features Hull Melon hops.

Friday, June 23

I’ve always been a big fan of beer altruism (whatever it takes, right?). The latest is the Milwaukee Legends Beer Dinner, hosted by the Five O’Clock Steakhouse (2416 W. State St.). I love the fact that the four-course dinner includes pairings with beers from Sprecher and Lakefront—two Milwaukee craft beer pioneers. Also, some of the $70 price benefits Capuchin Community Services-House of Peace and St. Ben’s Community Meal, which provides more than 2,000 meals each week to Milwaukee residents in need.

Karma Bar & Grill (600 E. Ogden Ave.) hosts the Hop Into Summer Beer Class from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Sample some IPAs intended for summer drinking like Good City Motto IPA and Milwaukee Brewing Blood Orange Hibiscus IPA. The cost is $25.

Saturday, June 24

Sour beers are the subjects of the weekly free tasting at both Three Cellars locations (7228 S. 27th St. and N72 W13400 Lund Lane, Menomonee Falls) from 1 to 4 p.m.
