Beer Events Brewing This Week: July 23-28

The 10th annual Milwaukee Brewfest comes to the lakefront this weekend. It’s just one of the highlights of a busy summer week for beer lovers.

Tuesday, July 23

The Beer Academy topic at Lakefront Brewery (1872 N. Commerce St.) is Women in Beer. The discussion runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and includes a few beer tastings. Tickets are $20.

Wednesday, July 24

Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.) says goodbye to employee Pat Jensen, who is picking a pretty solid tap list in honor of his departure. Among the selections—Eagle Park Seldom Seen NEIPA, Component Rose’s Sour and Untilted Art Chocolate Macaroon Imperial Stout.

The Milwaukee Beer Society hosts Christmas in July at Best Place (901 W. Juneau Ave.) from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The group will be sampling all sorts of winter brews like stouts, strong ales and barley wines.

Thursday, July 25

East Town Kitchen and Bar (323 E. Wisconsin Ave.) teams with Milwaukee Brewing for a four-course beer dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $50.

Friday, July 26

The Riverwest 24 is an awesome event that sees hundreds of bicyclists tour through neighborhood from 7 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday. Riverwest breweries Black Husky, Gathering Place, Lakefront and Company are pouring at a pop-up beer garden at Fyxation Bicycle Company (2943 N. Humboldt Blvd.) during the ride. Grab a beer from 5 to 10 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday.

Saturday, July 27

Milwaukee Brewfest celebrates its 10th year at McKinley Park (1600 N. Lincoln Memorial Dr.) and opens up for general admission ticket holders at 3 p.m. Dozens of breweries and an ideal location make it worth the trip. General admission tickets are $60 in advance.

The Fermentorium (7481 State Road 60, Cedarburg) hosts Downdogs & Drafts at 11 a.m. For $15 you get a one-hour yoga session and a couple of beer tokens. Be sure to bring your own mat.

Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) hands out samples from Sprecher from noon to 3 p.m.

Sahale Ale Works (1505 Wisconsin Ave., Grafton) celebrates its grand opening from noon to 10 p.m. Brewer Matt Hoffmann is taking his considerable talent to his own brewing operation after spending the last two years at St. Francis Brewery. Expect big things from Sahale.

Sunday, July 28

The Brewery Series at Sugar Maple (441 E. Lincoln Ave.) spotlights Central State Brewing from 1 to 3 p.m. For $20 you can learn about the brewery and try a few samples.
