10 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: Aug. 13-17

Sincere best wishes go out to the handful of local breweries who were affected by the flooding last weekend. Let’s hope the cleanup and return to normal happenings quickly.

Wednesday, Aug. 13

Eagle Park Brewing is the brewery of the month at Magellan’s on Main (370 W. Main St.). Try free samples of four Eagle Park beers from 5 to 7 p.m.

Head to Ope! Brewing Co. (6751 W. National Ave.) to pair beers with grilled cheese sandwiches from Shorty’s. The tasting runs from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Thursday, Aug. 14

This week’s beer dinner at Tess (2499 N. Bartlett Ave.) is with Potosi Brewing Company. Call 414-964-8377 to make a reservation.

New Barons Brewing Co-op is pouring at the Whitefish Bay Beer Garden at the Jewish Community Center (6313 N. Santa Monica Blvd.) from 5 to 7 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 15

Try samples form Hacker-Pschorr (3 to 5 p.m.), Paulaner (3 to 5 p.m.), and Central Waters Brewing (4 to 6 p.m.) at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.).

Saturday, Aug. 16

Sahale Ale Works (1505 Wisconsin Ave., Grafton) is hosting a Summer Luau from noon to 10 p.m. Hawaiian-themed beer, drinks and food are part of the plan. Hawaiian shirts are encouraged.

The Wisconsin Brewery Running Series heads to Belshire Brewing Company (1923 WI-175, Richfield). Start time for the casual 5K run is 11 a.m.

Component Brewing is popping up at a beer garden in the library green of the New Berlin Public Library (15105 W. Library Ln.) from noon to 6 p.m. There will also be food and live music.

Try samples from Paulaner Brewery at Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) from noon to 2 p.m.

Sunday, Aug. 17

Component is also pouring beer at the parking lot party at Kelly’s Greens (8932 W. North Ave.) from noon to 4 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 23: Gathering Place Brewing (811 E. Vienna Ave.) celebrates eight years of business with a party. Station No. 06 (6800 W. Becher St.) also celebrates an anniversary on Saturday. It’s appropriately their sixth.

Sunday, Aug. 24: The Great Milwaukee Brewery Bike Race is in its eighth year. Sign up to be a part of Team Riverwest (Gathering Place Brewing) or Team Bay View (Component Brewing).

Saturday, Sept. 6: Layman Brewing (6001 W. Madison St.) is hosting a Beer Garden Bash to celebrate its fifth anniversary from 2 to 8 p.m. Also, the annual Ervtoberfest is happening at Erv’s Mug (130 W. Ryan Rd.) from 5 to 9 p.m.
