Q: I have guests coming into town who want a classic Milwaukee fish fry but on a Thursday. Are there any restaurants that offer fish fries every day?

A:Yes, as a matter of fact! You just might see a scaled-down version of what’s normally available on Fridays. A good go-to is Lakefront Brewery (1872 N. Commerce St.), where the daily menu includes a fish (cod) fry basket with french fries, slaw, lemon and tartar sauce. Pair that with a brewery tour for a fun twofer. Up to eight fried fish options await you on a daily basis at St. Paul Fish Co. (Milwaukee Public Market, 400 N. Water St.), such as cod, perch and walleye (with fries and coleslaw). Want to be Downtown, in the thick of things? Miller Time Pub & Grill (509 W. Wisconsin Ave.), mere footsteps from the convention center, dips its cod in a Miller High Life beer batter and serves it with all the fry fixin’s – coleslaw, tartar and french fries. Hankering for a water view with that fry? Head to Bass Bay Brewhouse (S79 W15851 Aud Mar Drive) overlooking serene Bass Bay in Muskego. The casual supper club’s classic everyday fry is a plate of hand-breaded cod, tartar sauce, fries, marbled rye and coleslaw. In Lake Country, Pewaukee’s 5 O’Clock Club (N28 W26658 Peterson Dr.) keeps the fry momentum going all week, with perch and cod offered Tuesday-Friday and until 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
