Amy Matto was born and raised in Wisconsin, but has since moved to New York, where her design career – and company – have flourished. Despite no formal design training, she opened her company in 2009, and since then her dresses have made appearances on red carpets and a host of morning shows. Amy Matto was born and raised in Wisconsin, but has since moved to New York, where her design career – and company – have flourished. Despite no formal design training, she opened her company in 2009, and since then her dresses have made appearances on red carpets and a host of morning shows. Perhaps best of all, her clothes are made in the U.S.

Peruse some of my favorites from her spring and summer collections below. You’ll notice her style leans toward playful and polished, and many of theses dresses could be styled for day or night. The Harper is a standout piece with a pinched waist and short sleeves, plus a touch of sheen. It’s garden party with girly flair, and I’m all for it.

Claire Hanan worked at the magazine as an editor from 2012-2017. She edited the Culture section and wrote stories about all sorts of topics, including the arts, fashion, politics and more. In 2016, she was a finalist for best profile writing at the City and Regional Magazine Awards for her story "In A Flash." In 2014, she won the the Milwaukee Press gold award for best public service story for editing "Handle With Care," a service package about aging in Milwaukee. Before all this, she attended the University of Missouri's School of Journalism and New York University's Summer Publishing Institute.
