Walker’s Point Foodie Week sounds like August’s answer to early summer’s Downtown Dining Week. The event — which starts this Saturday Aug. 9 and concludes on Aug. 16 — follows a similar premise: three-course, prix-fixe menus offered at various dining spots. What makes it different: It’s not limited to restaurants (included are Indulgence Chocolatiers and Stone Creek Coffee, offering a pairing or gift set), and the fixed-price menus ($21 and $31) are for dinner only. Resto participants include AP Bar & Kitchen, Blue Jacket, Braise, Transfer Pizzeria and Smyth at the Iron Horse Hotel. Let’s use Braise (1101 S. Second St.) as an example. Its three-course, $31 menu features an heirloom tomato tart, roasted chicken with pickled corn salad and marjoram aioli, and peach shortcake with crème fraîche.
