Too Much Swag

Urban Dictionary defines “Swag” as follows: “The way in which you carry yourself.” Moreso, swag is made up of your overall confidence, style and demeanor. Next time you’re in front of the mirror having a fabulous hair day, tell yourself, “I’ve got TMS for you to handle!” Pop a super awesome dance move, and start your great day! However, if you need a little more flair… I recently came across a line of locally designed sunglasses called OMGfashion Shades, “The Shades that make you say oh my gosh.” They aren’t joking. I recently came across a line of locally designed sunglasses called OMGfashion Shades, “The Shades that make you say oh my gosh.” They aren’t joking. I’ve never seen something like this before. Not only do they catch your eye, the names of the different styles are just as wonderful. I’ll cut to the chase and give you a better look-see!

Midnight

I had an opportunity to sit down with the designers of OMGfashion Shades, Amillia and June, and speak with them about their brand. We decided to meet up for coffee. I walked in (fashionably late, of course) to find this dynamic duo sitting at a table with the most dazzling sunglasses upon their heads. There was no way I could have missed them. In fact, they caught everyone’s eye in the room.

Here are the details:

Amillia and June are a young Milwaukee couple in their 20s that began designing these sunglasses when they were unemployed last January. They were inspired by celebrities outrageous costumes: Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Kanye West. They made a few styles in their spare time and when they wore them, heads turned. They didn’t have a name yet for their designs but it seemed obvious by everyone’s reaction of “Oh my gosh, I love those sunglasses!” OMGfashion Shades was born.

The shades are priced at $50-$250 and are made out of everything from Swarovski crystals and lace to leather, metal zippers and studs. You can even request your own customized pair. Although it may be hard to believe, they are all handmade to see though. Styles are available for men, women and children and they each come in their own customized blinged-out case with a label that reads: WARNING: these glasses may have too much swagger.

I can just picture myself in a little black dress wearing a classic pair blinged out on the INSIDE of the frame. I’d call them the Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Do you have an idea of a style you’d like? Request a pair. They sell them on Etsy as well as Ma Jolie boutique in Bayshore and Flow Clothing Co.

What’s next for these entrepreneurs?

Coming soon: Blinged out shoes!!

All I can say is that they had me at hello. Yes, I have a shoe fetish and the moment I laid eyes upon these I knew this would not be the last time I had coffee with OMGfashion. So go ahead, rock a pair and support a local growing business! You can contact them on their Facebook page.
