Some things to read from really far away.
The Milwaukee Brewers are more than a year removed from the end of Ryan Braun’s 63-game suspension for his role in the 2013 Biogenesis scandal, and got some good news on Wednesday regarding the 2011 NL MVP’s future availability. Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel spotted a report saying Braun and eight other players have been granted immunity from federal prosecution in the matter in exchange for their testimony against Tony Bosch and an associate.
This is a positive development for the Brewers going forward but it’ll likely reopen some wounds in Braun’s public image. The fact that federal prosecutors were able to grant Braun immunity in exchange for his testimony serves as another implication, if not a confirmation, that he lied in previous statements about his limited relationship with Bosch and his role in the scandal.
