Stephen Jackson- Bucks Player Rapper

Through his first five contests as a Milwaukee Buck, veteran forward Stephen Jackson has averaged 12.4 points per game. That’s down from his career 16.3 PPG mark. Music Notes stumbled upon a video from December of “Stak5”—the former Nets, Spurs, Hawks, Pacers, Warriors, Bobcats and current Bucks player’s hip-hop alter ego—talking about his Texas freestyle upbringing and the obviously-titled mixtape he made during the NBA lockout, entitled What’s a Lockout? The not safe for work clip is difficult to hear, but maybe that’s for the better, as Jackson (who’s earned nearly $60M in his playing career) seems to spend most of the interview talking about how he makes more money than many other rappers.

You can also stream What’s a Lockout? below (NSFW, language). It’s not bad for a guy biding his time during a labor dispute, but we think Jackson, er, Stak5 should probably keep his day job, lest his earning potential as a full-time musician clash with his money-obsessed song content.

Unless Ersan Ilyasova puts out a techno album or Andrew Bogut finally gets around to starting that didgeridoo band in the near future, this will probably conclude our Milwaukee Bucks music coverage for a while.

A hat-tip goes out to RealTalkNY for the video and album stream.
