It is being reported that there is drama on the “Modern Family” set after six of the hit show’s lead actors have filed a lawsuit! Sofia Vergara, Ty Burrell, Julie Bowen, Eric Stonestreet, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Ed O’Neill are all saying that their 20th Century Fox TV contracts break the 7-year rule in California which prohibits personal service contracts that span longer than seven years. Hmm. A source close to the actors say that “Modern Family has been a breakout critical and financial success, that success however, has been built upon a collection of illegal contracts.” With the shows continued popularity this is certainly disappointing to hear! The suit is also saying that the contracts DO limit the pay raises that each actor can receive each season. Production on the hit’s fourth season was set to begin with a table reading Tuesday, but these negotiations have set back production. Hopefully everyone can work together and figure this out soon!
