The Great Taste of the Midwest hits Madison’s Olin Park on Saturday. If you have tickets, congratulations. If you don’t, make the trip anyway and work your way through Madison bars doing your own personal great tasting. One of the beauties of the Great Taste is the festive atmosphere that surrounds Madison during the event. Plan some serious bar hopping. This great online preview by Robin Shepard on the dailypage.com should give you plenty of ideas of what to do while you’re in Madison.
Barley Pop of the Week
For the second week in a row, I have to mention a New Glarus beer. This week, it’s Moon Man, the delicious pale ale. This is a great choice for beer drinkers trying to work up a taste for hoppy beers. A citrusy hop flavor is there with Moon Man, but it’s not overpowering and bitterness is held in check. This is a crisp and delicious brew, and another reminder that we’re lucky to have New Glarus in the Dairy State.
Quick Taps
General tickets to the massive Great American Beer Festival in Denver sold out in 20 minutes last week. That’s astonishing.
There’s just something so right about Sprecher brats.
