Local Talent Makes Waves

Local Talent Makes Waves

Along with most of America, I’ve have an obsession with the TV series “Mad Men.” Those red lips and nails, the ultra-feminine silhouettes and porcelain skin – I wanted so much to recreate the elegance of that time. I’ve had my eye on some up-and-coming local talent, and we all agreed to get together and do an editorial photo shoot at Bradford Beach. I plan to do an editorial shoot every season, and summer is the perfect time to kick it off. I hope you enjoy the work of these amazing local creatives.

At the Milwaukee Marina Park, Caitlin Larson, owner of Tres Chic Fashion and Modeling Productions, gives us all a lesson on the correct way to model for optimum height. Caitlin has owned her company  since 2010. She scouts and signs her own models. Tres Chic Fashion and Modeling Productions offers model coaching, fashion shows, wardrobe styling and hair/makeup applications.

Model Sarah Ella of Tres Chic shows off an outfit made by local fashion designer Kia Xiong. Kia has been sewing since she was a child and is able to make custom clothing to fit you perfectly. Kia took my vision of 50’s inspired clothing with a modern twist and it turned out extremely well. Every outfit in this shoot was handmade by Kia specifically for this event.

Model Hannah Peterson of Tres Chic basks in the sun while our photographer Ritesh Keskar  sets up for the perfect shot! He has the eye of a true artist by capturing the perfect moment, allowing the viewer to feel what is happening as if they were there themselves. Everyone was at ease with Ritesh, as he radiates calm, making it easy for our models to do their work.

Above is a  fun photo with the Tres Chic models and my vintage Louis Vuitton handbags. Hair was done by Trisha Lysaght of Carenza. I’m spellbound when I watch Trisha work with hair; I haven’t seen someone with her talent before. She’s able to mold the hair to perfection, and she makes it look so easy.

Makeup was done by ME! I airbrushed their makeup and used coral reds to make their lips pop. The airbrush makes everything blend and lay flawlessly.  I work with models through various agencies for their comp cards, styling their hair and makeup. I work as a freelance artist on location and in studio, feel free to visit my website and portfolio.

This was such a great group to work with, everything went smoothly, and I would love to work with them again. If you’re looking for any of their services, please feel free to contact them by clicking on their links.
