Greetings, and welcome to “Shop & Go,” the new weekly blog on InsideMilwaukee.com dedicated to all things shopping. I’ll be your guide as we venture into the retail jungle and navigate the dark paths traveled by fellow wallet warriors. But first, a little disclosure: For as much as I love to shop, I am unforgivably unfamiliar with Milwaukee’s many shopping opportunities. In my defense, I spent the past few prime retail years of my life in New York City and have only recently relocated to Milwaukee. But this benefits you! I have not been influenced by outside forces, and so my untouched perspective will strengthen my ability to bring you a fresh look at Milwaukee’s shopping scene. Let’s explore together, shall we?
As I become more acquainted with what’s available in Milwaukee and its surrounding areas, my goal is to keep you updated on as many different shopping topics as possible. Every other week I’ll have a “Store Spotlight” with all the information you need to know before stepping foot in a particular store. I’ll be your personal shopper, so to speak. Is there a store you’ve been dying to go to and just aren’t sure it’s right for you? Let me know! (I can be contacted via email or carrier pigeon.) I’ll scope it out and report back with all the details necessary to help you make an informed decision. When I’m not bringing you the inside scoop on stores, I’ll bring you the outside scoop on, well, everything else. There will be helpful how-to guides, trend alerts, news on store openings (or unfortunate closings) and everything in between. Just remember: This isn’t about me—it’s about you.
