Image of the Day The Sydney Hih building on Juneau Avenue has certainly had a colorful past. Built in 1876, it was the first commercial brick building in Milwaukee, and by the 1970s it was a haven for the counterculture movement. At one time, it contained craft shops, a record store, artist studios, a bead shop, photography darkrooms and the Unicorn night club. The Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden and Nirvana performed there, and artist Prophet Blackmon had an art studio on the premises. www.MKEimages.com
