“…sparkles with wit.” Roger Moore, Charlotte Observer
“More than confusing. It’s opaque.” Mick LaSalle, San Francisco Chronicle
It’s fun to watch the gorgeous Roberts and Owen exude sexy confidence as they exchange witty quips in the equally gorgeous locales of Rome and the Bahamas, but this stylish spy thriller about two government spies attempting to steal a top-secret formula from corporate tycoons loses its charm with illogical circumstances and a bland ending. Gilroy (who also wrote the script) leaves too many red herrings and not enough clues so once the real con’s revealed it’s like hearing the punch line without the set-up. Their major (lack of) trust issues and Carrie Preston as a ditzy travel agent are funny moments, but otherwise the best scenes are in the trailer.
Scheduled to be released on DVD in August
