Some highs and fashion lows to report in today’s round-up. Let’s get to it.
- Timothy Westbrook has announced he’ll be hosting his next fashion show – on ice! – March 16. The show will be held at the Pfister, which is essentially his home base. According to a press release, the “show will feature models over the age of thirty, male models, female
impersonators, figure skaters, as well as ‘traditional’ models.” The “theme” of the show and accompanying performance will be “complexities of the pressure young
people have to choose a career and life path based on the guidance of others.” Look for additional coverage of the show right here.
- Wauwatosa-based MoDE is having a 50 percent off sale on all of their fall and winter merch. It’s a good time to scoop up styles for next year (or next year’s Christmas gifts).
- Cathy Horyn, has resigned from her post as The New York Times fashion critic, effective immediately. She’s citing personal reasons, and Capital New York reports that her partner Art Ortenberg has recently been sick. The inimitable critic is still working on a book about how The Times covered fashion. I will dearly miss her criticism.
- On Feb. 12, Water Street boutique Third Coast Style is hosting a wedding trunk show for future brides. The show will feature locally designed (and sourced) wedding dresses, headpieces, wedding accessories and jewelry from a host of designers who regularly sell their wares in the store.
