Cheap Eats

Greetings, ladies and gentleman, and welcome to the new (and improved?) Cheap Eats column, our food blog dedicated to Milwaukee’s lesser-known, hole-in-the-wall-type restaurants – places that make up for what they may lack in spit and polish with simple, unfussy food and a welcoming attitude. You can think of me as Milwaukee’s Guy Fieri, the Food Network star of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” only, you know, without the Ed Hardy wardrobe, stupid hair and inane surfer lingo. Actually, forget I ever said that.

A little about myself. I love cheeseburgers, nachos and all things marshmallow. I’ll try most anything at least once though as I type that I can think of several things I’d be hard-pressed to put in my mouth – mostly things of a gastrointestinal nature. I’ve lived in Milwaukee my entire life, save for those four years of college, and am always looking for a new restaurant to try. Above all, I love food. But I’m not a foodie.

My first review will be up tomorrow. Give it a read, leave some feedback – if you have a recommendation, feel free to pass it along – and be sure to check back every other Wednesday for more.
