Norah Jones at the Riverside

Join Norah Jones at the Riverside this Friday, June 2 for the Milwaukee stop on her Day Breaks World Tour. Jones mixes sounds from country, folk, rock, soul and jazz to create a unique style of music. Her latest studio album, Day Breaks, displays her growth as an artist since her Grammy winning debut Come Away With Me. Tickets are still on sale for this Friday’s performance.

The Presto-X Insect Zoo

The Betty Brinn Children’s Museum hosts The Presto-X Insect Zoo on Friday, June 2 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Children (and parents!) will be able to get up close and personal with different insects. Entomologists from Presto-X will be on hand to answer any questions that children may have about the insects. Admission to the event is free with the purchase of a regular admission museum ticket.

Historic Beer Brewing at Old World Wisconsin

Old World Wisconsin welcomes Leinenkugel’s as their featured brewery on Saturday, June 3. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., stop by Old World Wisconsin for a cold brew. Old World Wisconsin has partnered with the Museum of Beer and Brewing to bring the 19th-century brews to life. Not only that, but brewer’s equipment from the late 1800’s will be on display as well.

National Donut Day

National Donut Day is Friday, June 2 and Donut Squad is opening its doors just in time for the big event. The walk-up spot soft-opens Thursday, June 1 and donut prices range from $1.89-$3. After checking out the photos on their Instagram page, your mouth will be watering for a delicious, cereal-covered donut. National Donut Day sounds like the perfect excuse to go check them out!

Ladies Night Out at Boswell Books

Boswell Books is hosting Ladies Night Out on Saturday, June 3 at 7 p.m. Featuring Colleen Oakley, author of Close Enough to Touch, Karma Brown, author of In This Moment, Amy E. Reichert, author of The Simplicity of Cider, the night is sure to be full of literary delight. Boswell Books is located at 2559 N Downer Ave and the event is free, but come ready to purchase your favorite book.


Summer Fun

Northern Pints Patio Party

Welcome warmer weather and the start of summer at Northern Pints Patio Party on Friday, June 2. From 4-8 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel. There will be music from Rudy & Vee from 5-7 p.m. as well as yard games, giveaways and food and beer specials. It’s one of the first summer parties of the year so be sure not to miss it!

McGuire 

McGuire returns to the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre from Thursday, June 1 until June 18. After a sold-out run from Jan-March, high demand has brought this local favorite back to Milwaukee. This one-man production stars Tony Award winner Anthony Crivello. McGuire depicts the story of Al McGuire, Marquette University’s legendary basketball coach. Tickets are on sale now for this return engagement.

Art

Northern Moraine Spring Arts Tour

The 3rd annual Northern Moraine Spring Arts Tour begins on Friday, June 2 and goes through Sunday, June 4. Located at the Plymouth Arts Center Headquarters, art-goers can participate in a 3-day self guided art tour. There will also be a cash-bar and snacks at the venue, so come hungry for beautiful art and great food.


Fitness

Yoga @ The Museum 

There’s nothing like starting your day off with some downward dog and warrior stretches! The Milwaukee Art Museum is hosting Yoga @ The Museum on Saturday, June 3. Doors open bright and early at 7:45 a.m., so don’t forget to set your alarm clock. Be sure to bring your own yoga mat. You can pre-register online, and your $15 donation includes same-day admission into the art museum.
