Don’t know much about Milwaukee’s Menomonee River Valley Neighborhood? Well, you’ll get to know the local businesses, nature, history and more after visiting during 2020 Valley week! This fun-filled week has everything from a beer-themed run to bike tours to a cocktail class with Rishi Tea and Botanicals. There’s something for everyone to live a little, to learn something new and to love this neighborhood.
2. Party On Pitt – A Pop-Up Beer Patio
FRIDAYS-SUNDAYS IN SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER AT VARIOUS TIMES | 117 E PITTSBURGH AVE.
Broken Bat and MobCraft Beer are hosting a pop-up beer patio with local food and snack vendors, local musicians, outdoor activities and, of course, lots of beer. The patio will feature beer from not just Broke Bat and MobCraft, but also from various other breweries in Milwaukee. Tickets are $30 which includes a ($30 value) beer voucher upon arrival, and either a 10×10 plot to bring your own chairs or an 8×8 plot with a picnic table.

3. Hawthorne Hill Farm Barn Market
FRIDAY-SATURDAY FROM 10 A.M.- 5 P.M. & SUNDAY FROM 10 A.M. – 4 P.M. | 16370 W SMALL RD, NEW BERLIN
It’s that time of year again: the time of year to continue supporting small businesses, but with the crisp cool air and a barn to make it an early autumn experience! There will be artisans, upcyclers, food vendors and more sprinkled throughout the barn and surrounding grounds.
4. Menomonee River Valley Ultimate Beer Run 3.7K
SEPT. 12-19 | BETWEEN BOTH VALLEY BREWERIES
If you like running, if you like running and beer, or even if you hate running but like beer, this event is for you! As part of the 2020 Valley Week, the Ultimate Beer Run 3.7K is a “do-it-yourself” run between City Lights Brewing and Third Space Brewing. Not only does registration include a free Valley branded mask, but it also comes with coupons for a complimentary beer at each brewery. So, run (or walk) on over to River Valley get your free beers! Registration is $25 per person. This event is technically a part of Valley Week, but we thought it deserved its own shout out.
5. The Pirates Treasure Hunt Milwaukee
SATURDAY FROM 10 A.M.- 4 P.M. | MILWAUKEE DOWNTOWN
Grab your pirate’s sword, eyepatch and trustee face mask then head over to Milwaukee’s downtown for the first-ever city-wide treasure hunt. Fun for the whole family, this quest for the treasure map of Cap’n Graybeard will have you out and about in the city and may even lead you to the hidden treasure! Tickets are $50 (plus $2.75 shipping and handling), and prizes will be awarded for best costumes, team name and highest scorers.
6. A Taste of Italy
SATURDAY FROM NOON-6 P.M. | AMERICAN SERB HALL
Though traveling abroad may be out of the picture right now, who’s to say that you can’t experience a “visit” to Italy right here in Milwaukee? A Taste of Italy will offer authentic Italian food and drinks and a Dean Martin impersonator. It will be held in a big tent outside the American Serb hall.
7. Paddle for our Rivers: Milwaukee Riverkeeper
SATURDAY-SUNDAY FROM 10 A.M.-6 P.M. | MILWAUKEE KAYAK COMPANY
In support of the Milwaukee Riverkeeper, this weekend you can grab a paddle and see the rivers from a new angle, and the proceeds will go to help keep our rivers clean and healthy. All paddle rentals are for up to four hours. Tickets range from $35 to $65, depending on the type of paddle you rent.
8. East Side Art Market
SATURDAY-SUNDAY FROM NOON-4 P.M. | 1915 E NORTH AVE.
Local art, local music, local people. The East Side Art Market has all three! Each day of the market, there will be 12 vendors from Milwaukee, selling everything from sweet treats to art to Milwaukee-themed goods. There will also be live local music each day so you can jam out while you shop.
