1. Summer Gallery Night at Gallery 218

This artist-run Walker’s Point gallery is celebrating its 30th year. It’s welcoming guests to see its current collection of art, listen to live jazz music performed by the Elevator Trio, and bring nonperishable food items for donation to the Hunger Task Force.
2. Nō Studios Unplugged with Q the Sun
FRIDAY, JULY 17 FROM 6-7 P.M.
Kiran “Q the Sun” Vedula, a Milwaukee-based artist known for fusing hip-hop, electronic and folk music, is performing in the next session of Nō Studios Unplugged, streaming for free on YouTube and on the Nō Studios website. RSVP is encouraged and donations are welcome.

3. Glass Blowing Classes
SATURDAY, JULY 18 FROM 9 A.M.-12:30 P.M.
Square One Art Glass is hosting these three hour-long glass blowing workshops. The cost includes an original work of blown glass that participants will create during their session. Don’t worry if you can’t make it this weekend — classes are happening monthly.
4. StoryBooks and Bikes
SATURDAY, JULY 18 FROM 10 A.M.-2 P.M.
Niche Book Bar, a bookstore dedicated to showcasing Black literature across all genres, is inviting you and your kids to storytime at the entrance of the Sherman Phoenix. Listen to this week’s story, “The Day You Begin” by Jacqueline Wilson, then browse and buy some books from Niche’s mobile bookstore, the Book Bike.
5. Chalk the Plaza at Fiserv Forum
SUNDAY, JULY 19 FROM 8 A.M.-12 P.M.
The Milwaukee community is invited to deck out the plaza at Fiserv Forum with chalk art that expresses unity and positivity. Don’t forget to bring your own chalk and wear a mask — both are required.
6. Yoga with Cats
SUNDAY, JULY 19 FROM 10-11:30 A.M.
Stop by Sip & Purr Cat Cafe to unwind with an hour of instructor-led yoga (all levels welcome), followed by some time to kick back with the kittens. Coffee, breakfast, pastries and “MEOWmosas” will be for sale as well. You can get your tickets here.
7. The Great Sambusa Community Cooking Class
SUNDAY, JULY 19 FROM 2-4 P.M.
This online class combines cuisine and cultural awareness. Learn to make delicious sambusas from featured chef Hasina Begum Ashraf Mia alongside other chefs from Tables Across Borders, who will share their own tips and discuss how food mixes and changes across cultures.
