7 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: March 12-15

A handful of new beer releases is highlighted by the annual Mystic Knot release party at Third Space Brewing. The barrel-aged stout is a yearly standout. Sláinte!

Thursday, March 12

Lakefront Brewery (1872 N. Commerce St.) is releasing Brewers’ Reserve Belgian Grand Cru, an ale aged in Rehorst gin barrels – an uncommon spirit for barrel-aging – from 3 to 9 p.m. Presale starts online at 9 a.m. The release coincides with the Rare Bird Night Market from 4 to 8 p.m.

The Women’s Month Showcase comes to Ray’s Wine & Spirits (8930 W. North Ave., Wauwatosa) from 6 to 8 p.m. A $10 ticket lets you sample beer, wine and spirits thanks to the Women’s Beer and Spirits Collective. A portion of ticket sales benefit the Forward Please Project.

Saturday, March 14

The annual release party for Mystic Knot Barrel-Aged Stout arrives at Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.). There are two variants of the delicious Irish coffee-inspired base beer this year: pistachio cardamom and salted caramel. The festivities will also include live music and Irish dancing.

The Local 215 Milwaukee Professional Firefighters are hosting a beer release party at Broken Bat Brewing (135 E. Pittsburgh Ave.). Broken Bat is releasing MFD Irish Red and Small Ball Nitro Stout. A portion of the sales of MFD Irish Red benefit the Milwaukee Professional Firefighters. The festivities start at noon.

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day (a few days early) at New Barons Brewing Co-op (2018 S. First St.). Starting at 3 p.m. they’ll have live music, food, and they’ll be pouring Doc O’Clock Irish Stout.

Sunday, March 15

Meet some adoptable dogs at Perspective Brewing (7508 W. Greenfield Ave., West Allis) during Pints for Pups from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be raffles, dog-related items, and a beer that benefits Ma, Paws, and Me Pet Rescue.

There’s a St. Patrick’s Day meat raffle at Station No. 06 (6800 W. Becher St., West Allis) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; each pour of Guinness, Harp, Smithwick’s or Tullamore D.E.W. earns a raffle ticket.

Wednesday, March 25: Tess (2499 N. Bartlett Ave.) is hosting a pair of beer dinners with Great Lakes Brewing on March 25 and March 26. The five-course dinners start at 6:30 p.m. Call 414-964-8377 to make a reservation.

Thursday, March 26: Pilot Project Brewing (1128 N. Ninth St.) hosts the four-course Almost Spring Beer Dinner. They’re releasing three special beers to mark the occasion.

Saturday, April 4: Hard to believe, but Urban Harvest Brewing (1024 S. Fifth St.) is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

Saturday, April 18: The annual Joint Beer Fest will take place at Eagle Park Brewing (S64 W15640 Commerce Center Pkwy., Muskego). This year’s lineup features a mix of producers, from breweries like Young Blood and Ohio’s Dankhouse to J Henry & Sons distillery and Drinkin’ Buds Beverages. More details on the event page.

Saturday, May 30: The eighth year of Lager & Friends is scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. The beer fest at Gathering Place Brewing (811 E. Vienna St.) highlights lagers from several standout breweries.
