6 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: Dec. 21-26

It might be a holiday week, but there’s still a lot going on the craft beer world. It all begins on Monday with a chance to taste some great dark beers.

Monday, Dec. 21

The Brass Tap (7808 W. Layton Ave.) celebrates the Darkest Day of the Year by tapping more than a few dark brews, including some barrel-aged gems, at 6 p.m.

Tuesday, Dec. 22

1840 Brewing (342 E. Ward St.) has a pair of Christmas-themed Berliner weisse beers being released. Kelsmas is fermented with Zinfandel grape must and aged on cacao nibs and vanilla beans. Want a Fresh Cut? is made with spruce tips from Colorado. Presale is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pickup is from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Wednesday, Dec. 23

The customer appreciation party at The Brass Tap means deals on drafts and food. It also means that there might be a leftover or two from the Darkest Day of the Year party.

Hacienda Beer Co. (2018 E. North Ave.) is releasing two beers right before the holiday. Snag a four pack of Electric Flower Garden Rye Pale Ale or Tropi-Choco Chocolate Orange Milk Stout at 4 p.m. Preorder a few cans now.

Saturday, Dec. 26

Sahale Ale Works (1505 Wisconsin Ave., Grafton) celebrates Sahalidays from noon to 10 p.m. Come wearing your best ugly sweater and get $1 off of the full pours you order.

The 1840 Burngarten at Homestead Hollow Park (N120 W19809 Freistadt Rd., Germantown) continues this weekend. Rent a fire pit for a two-hour time slot and enjoy the warmth and tap beers from 1840 Brewing with a few select friends. The outdoor fun is happening every Saturday until early March.
