1. Callie Kiesow

With pieces that depict figures in motion draped in bedsheets across different mediums, like plaster or charcoal drawing, Kiesow’s work balances playfulness and tension. She is part of Var Gallery’s 2023 “30x30x30” exhibition cohort.

2. Eduardo Zavala

The multimedia pieces by this artist in residence of Bridge Work Cycle 08 at Var Gallery explore queer realities and reshape gender binaries using natural materials.

VOTE FOR MILWAUKEE’S BEST BEER!

What’s Brew City’s best? We’ve picked 16 of our favorite Milwaukee craft beers for a March Madness-style tournament, but it’s up to you to pick the winner! Will it be bright and hoppy? Dark and malty? A zippy lager? Every one is worthy of the title; who will claim the sudsy crown?

3. Celeste Contreras

Xicana-Indigenous artist Contreras is the person behind Studio Tlacuilo + Library, an evolving studio centered around books at House of Rad. Her work, including illustrations and book arts, shares cultural and spiritual reflections through storytelling.

4. Anwar Floyd-Pruitt

You may recognize Floyd-Pruitt’s work from his exhibition “Retina Records” at Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel last year. Now, he’s back in the studio creating larger abstract paintings and paper installation pieces as a resident artist at House of Rad, a creative collective and artists’ space.
