3rd Street Market Hall Will (Finally) Open Tomorrow!

Here’s what to expect at Milwaukee’s newest market.

The cat is out of the bag: the long-awaited 3rd Street Market Hall (first floor of The Avenue, 275 W. Wisconsin Ave.) is set to open on Friday, Jan. 14, 11 a.m.- 9 p.m. That is music to many ears.

The destination promises to be a hub for dining and entertainment as well. Over the last several months, the market has announced over 15 food vendors, such as Dairyland (burgers and frozen custard), Greenhouse (sandwiches, soups, salad bar), Hot Dish Pantry (pierogi, hot dish), Strega (fresh pasta), Make Waves (smoothies, juices, acai bowls) and Middle East Side (Middle Eastern cuisine). Other vendors – Paper Plane Pizza and Kawa Ramen & Sushi – are soon to open. The most recent announcement was the addition of a wine shop – Strange Town Bottle Shop, an offshoot of the East Side plant-based restaurant Strange Town. The shop will feature wines “made with minimal intervention in the widely growing category of ‘natural’ wines,” per the market’s press release.

As for the entertainment activities, these include a selfie museum, Topgolf Swing Suites, a gaming lounge, two custom-built shuffleboard courts and a 50-by-50-foot area outfitted with backyard games like Giant Jenga. The space also features a 50-seat, full-service bar. Details on a Grand Opening event are still to come.

Hours (at least for the month of January): Tues-Thurs 11 a.m.-9 p.m.; Fri-Sat 11 a.m.-11 p.m.; Sun 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
