3 Local Chefs Share Their Idea of a Romantic Meal

We asked them: Which foods or dishes conjure up a romance?

1. Goodkind

PAUL ZERKEL

Cheese: “You rarely just eat cheese by yourself. (I mean, Wisconsinites do, but not normal people.) It’s always shared and something to discuss over a good glass of wine.” One to try: La Tur 3-Milk Soft Ripened Cheese, available at Whole Foods.

2. The Chef’s Table

DAVID MAGNASCO

Culinary aphrodisiacs: Magnasco has amassed 12 cookbooks devoted to these, ahem, stimulants: “A lot of those foods are the source of vitality,” he says – oysters, rabbit, marcona almonds and escargot, to name a few.

3. Cavas

ANA DOCTA

Duck confit breast and potato purée drizzled with black truffles: “It is decadent!” she says, adding that she’d also serve “a big spoon of beluga caviar as dessert and a ton of bubbles [sparkling wine] for fun.”
