25 Beer Events Brewing In Milwaukee This Week: May 17-21

There’s a lot going on this week, including beer releases, beer gardens galore and brewery anniversaries.

Wednesday, May 17

Noon Whistle Brewing is taking over the taps at Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.) from 4 to 10 p.m. K&L’s BBQ will be serving food, starting at 5 p.m.

Sprecher Brewery’s Traveling Beer Garden lands at Greenfield Park (2028 S. 124th St.) from May 17 to May 29. Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. during the week and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

The Plant & Sip Succulent Bar comes to The Tap Yard – Milwaukee (1555 N. Rivercenter Dr.) at 5:30 p.m. Build a cool  green arrangement and get a free beer while you’re doing it. Tickets are $60.

Thursday, May 18

The Riverwest Brewery Syndicate is releasing a new collaboration at Riverwest Pizza (922 E. Wright St.) at 6 p.m. The Syndicate Belgian IPA was created by Lakefront Brewery, Company Brewing, Black Husky Brewing, Amorphic Beer and Gathering Place Brewing Company.

New Barons Brewing Co-op (2018 S. 1st St.) hosts a pickle and beer pairing from 5 to 10 p.m.

Try samples from 3 Floyds Brewing and Founders Brewing from 3 to 6 p.m. at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.).

The Plant & Sip Succulent Bar makes a stop at The Tap Yard – West Bend (4875 County Hwy. Z) at 5:30 p.m.

Friday, May 19

The Tap Yard – West Bend celebrates a year in business over the weekend. It starts with a Lakefront Brewery tap takeover that features a dozen Lakefront brews, including a 2020 Black Friday. Marcell Guyton will be there providing live music.

Draft & Vessel Wauwatosa (7479 Harwood Ave.) marks its second year with a party from 3 p.m. to close. The event includes new beers from Fair State Brewing Cooperative, Hop Butcher and Earth Rider Brewery.

1840 Brewing Company (342 E. Ward St.) is releasing Sea Foam, a fruited sour made with pineapple, passion fruit, milk sugar and blue spirulina. Preorder starts at 9 a.m.

It’s a big weekend for 1840’s Beer Garden Road Show. The first stop is Riverside Park (700 Kilbourn Ave., West Bend) from 4 to 9 p.m.

Sample barrel-aged beers from Boulevard Brewing at Discount Liquor Milwaukee from 3 to 6 p.m.

Saturday, May 20

Lager & Friends was Milwaukee Magazine’s pick for Best Beer Festival in 2022, so don’t miss it in 2023. It’s happening from noon to 4 p.m. at The Bavarian Bierhaus (700 W. Lexington Blvd.). Try more than 60 well-crafted lagers from a long list of amazing breweries. Tickets are $50.

Urban Harvest Brewing Company (1024 S. 5th St.) celebrated its seventh anniversary once already this spring. Now they’re taking the party outdoors for a block party from 1 to 8 p.m. Urban Harvest is releasing Bee My Neighbor Imperial IPA at the event, and there will be music and food.

Company Brewing (735 E. Center St.) has been around slightly longer than Urban Harvest. Company is celebrating its eighth anniversary with a block party from noon until whenever. They’ll have limited beers, goats (yes, goats), flash tattoos, games and more. The brewery is also releasing Fuzz Core Salted Watermelon Super Gose.

A relative newcomer, Torzala Brewing (2018 S. 1st St.), celebrates its first birthday from 1 to 6 p.m. Celebrate with a pair of new beer releases, food, live music and even face painting.

The Tap Yard – Brookfield (2925 N. Barker Rd.) celebrates its first anniversary by pouring a few rarities from 3 Floyds Brewing and Maplewood Brewery. The Smoke Ring BBQ food truck will be there too.

Station No. 6 (6800 W. Becher St.) is hosting an adult lemonade stand with beer from Revolution Brewing from noon to 3 p.m. A dollar from each Revolution beer sold benefits the WAWM Champion For A Child Scholarship fund.

The second weekend stop for the Beer Garden Road Show is Ellsworth Park (600 E. Ellsworth Ln., Bayside). 1840 will be pouring its beers from 4 to 9 p.m.

3 Sheeps Brewing is offering samples at Discount Liquor Milwaukee from noon to 2 p.m.

Sunday, May 21

Maifest is happening at Lakefront Brewery (1872 N. Commerce St.) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This means gluten-free beer and food options, live music and a market with two dozen vendors.

Fans of grilled cheese sandwiches can head to either The Tap Yard – Menomonee Falls (W220 N7884 Town Line Rd.) or the The Tap Yard – West Bend. Both are hosting Grilled Cheese Fest, beginning at noon.

1840’s Beer Garden Road Show ends the weekend at Leonard J. Yahr County Park (7999 Orchard Valley Rd., West Bend) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

It’s Dog Day Sunday at Component Brewing (2018 S. 1st St.). Meet dogs who need a home and help raise money for Canine Cupids dog rescue. If you bring your dog, you get $1 off of your beer.

MobCraft Beer (505 S. 5th St.) hosts Yoga in the Brewery from 11 a.m. to noon. You get a free beverage for your stretching efforts.
