Beer Snobs Ale & Eats (122 Cottonwood Ave., Hartland, 262-367-6627) has plenty of nuances that make a bar inviting – a bartop made of bowling lanes repurposed from the defunct Hartbrook Lanes, large windows and garage doors that create an open and airy feel, ample woodwork and a full slate of casual bar food.
But clearly the key to a place with a name like Beer Snobs is what’s pouring from the taps. The casual tavern in the far west ‘burbs has that covered, too. A gleaming tap bank of 24 handles features a nice mix that includes stouts, sours, several good IPA choices and Stevens Point root beer for the kids.
Despite the name, you won’t find a bar full of bearded hipsters discussing mouth feel and hops profiles, but rather a friendly mix of families and locals. The moniker is decidedly tongue-in-cheek.
