19 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: Dec. 3-7

Cheers to Amorphic Beer for celebrating four years in the brewing business this week. That’s just one event during a busy slate of beer-related fun.

Wednesday, Dec. 3

Three Cellars (N72 W13400 Lund Ln., Menomonee Falls) is tapping four variants of Abraxas, the outstanding imperial stout made by Perennial Artisan Ales of St. Louis. Abraxas Day runs from 3 to 9 p.m.

Thursday, Dec. 4

Phil Humphrey, owner of 608 Brewing in La Crosse, is coming to Three Cellars and bringing three barrel-aged beers with him. The taps start flowing at 6 p.m.

Friday, Dec. 5

Blackbird Bar (3007 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.) hosts Lakefront Brewery’s release party for My Turn: Aidan, a smoked rye oyster stout, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Perspective Brewing is pouring beer at the West Allis Christkindl Market (6501 W. National Ave.) on Friday and Saturday. The market runs from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday and noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

The release of Super Smash Rad, a single hop/single malt lager, is happening at New Barons Brewing Co-op (2018 S. First St.) at 3 p.m. The brew is the winner of the Beer Keep program at New Barons.

Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) offers Belgian beer samples from Duvel and Chouffe, and tastes from Ope! Brewing from 3 to 5 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 6

Amorphic Beer (3700 N. Fratney St.) celebrates four years of great beer with a birthday party. It includes the release of six new beers, one of which is Drench Floof, a “hop-saturated ale.” Live music and food are also part of the celebration.

The Santa Cycle Rampage happens on Saturday morning, and Urban Harvest Brewing (1024 S. Fifth St.) is opening at 8 a.m. for a pre-ride party.

Black Husky Brewing (909 E. Locust St.) is hosting a Santa Cycle Rampage post-race party. Black Husky opens at 10 a.m. that morning and will have live music, a cookie exchange, spiked hot chocolate and a brandy slush.

Component Brewing (2018 S. First St.) is also welcoming riders after the Santa Cycle Rampage. If you’re wearing a Santa costume, you get $2 off a pour.

Gathering Place Brewing (811 E. Vienna Ave.) is tapping Just a Bit Hotside, a hazy IPA that won the Cream City Homebrew Competition. Try the juicy brew beginning at noon.

Namaste at North Pillar means a one-hour yoga session and a free beer when you’re done. North Pillar Brewing (212 North St., Waukesha) hosts the workout from 11 a.m. to noon. Cost is $20.

Start the day with a workout at Brewery Bootcamp, hosted by MobCraft Beer (505 S. Fifth St.). The class starts at 11 a.m. and the $10 fee benefits charity.

Try samples of Modelo Noche Especial (noon to 3 p.m.) and beers by Indeed Brewing (3 to 6 p.m.) at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.). Indeed (noon to 2 p.m.) and Shiner (1 to 3 p.m.) are offering samples at Discount Liquor Waukesha.

Sunday, Dec. 7

The Packers take on the Bears and Station No. 06 (6800 W. Becher St., West Allis) is marking the occasion with a watch party. Starting at 3 p.m., they’ll be pouring beers from 3 Sheeps Brewing and Half Acre Brewing, and they’ll be serving cheesy loaded Chicago dogs (ketchup is up to you).

Raised Grain Brewing’s Brewmasters’ Circle is an exclusive club, and on Sunday you get the chance to become a new member. Raised Grain (1725 Dolphin Dr., Waukesha) is raffling off spots in the club. Get there before 1 p.m. to register. Bring a donation of a toy or clothes and you get an extra entry.

The Lakefront Makers Market takes place in the Lakefront Brewery Beer Hall (1872 N. Commerce St.) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. More than 20 vendors will be there.

Urban Harvest is hosting Decembeer Sunday Funday from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The festivities include a potluck, ugly sweaters, and a beer exchange.

Wednesday, Dec. 10: The first of two Freestyle Holiday Beer Dinners is happening at Tess (2499 N. Bartlett Ave.). The dinners pair five courses with seasonal beers. The second dinner is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 11. Call 414-964-8377 or email tessmilwaukee@gmail.com to make a reservation.
