18 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: Sept. 6-10

Oktoberfest beers and celebrations are taking center stage this week.

Wednesday, Sept. 6

Chicago’s Maplewood Brewery is taking over the taps at Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.) at 4 p.m.

The beer release this week at 1840 Brewing Company (342 E. Ward St.) is They Call Him the Unicorn, a double IPA.

Learn how to paint a sunflowers scene at Paint & Sip, happening at The Tap Yard – West Bend (4875 County Highway Z) from 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $30.

Thursday, Sept. 7

The lengthy Oktoberfest celebration at Bavarian Bierhaus is underway until October 8. Each weekend includes amazing German food, live music and plenty of beer. The festivities start at 4 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Lakefront Brewery celebrates the release of Oktoberfest at The Wicked Hop (345 N. Broadway) at 6 p.m. There will be a stein holding contest, of course.

Friday, Sept. 8

Eagle Park Brewing (S64 W15640 Commerce Center Pkwy.) begins its two-day Oktoberfest celebration at 11 a.m. Festivities include special beer tappings, German-inspired food, live music and feats of strength. The fun runs until Saturday at 10 p.m.

Fall Fest is happening at The Tap Yard – West Bend on Friday and Saturday. They’ll be tapping rare beers and several Oktoberfests. There will also be live music and food trucks.

J. Leinenkugel’s Barrel Yard (1 Brewers Way) is hosting another Pints & Poses from 10 to 11 a.m. The hour-long yoga session is free (registration is required) and includes a free tap beer when you’re done.

Try samples from Toppling Goliath at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from 3 to 6 p.m.

Head to Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) from 3 to 5 p.m. for samples from Badger State Brewing.

Saturday, Sept. 9

The 13th annual Ervtoberfest is coming to Erv’s Mug (130 W. Ryan Rd.) from 5 to 9 p.m. The event is a steal. Tickets are $50 and get you access to nearly 100 seasonal craft beers and a German buffet.

If you’re growing any hops, bring them to the annual Riverwest Backyard Hops Brew Day at Company Brewing (735 E. Center St.). They’ll be put to use brewing Wet Hopped American Pale Ale. Bring the hops in from 11 a.m. until the brewing starts at 4 p.m.

It’s Pumpkin Beer Day at The Tap Yard – Waukesha (1927 E. Sunset Dr.). A few pumpkin beer standouts are hitting the taps including Lakefront Brandy Barrel Aged Imperial Pumpkin Ale and 3 Sheeps Pumpkin Spice Veneration, a Belgian quad.

The Make No Mistake pop-up market sets up shop at Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) from noon to 6 p.m. Browse handmade crafts, vintage clothing, art and more from 40 different vendors.

Urban Harvest Brewing (1024 S. 5th St.) hosts a block party from 1 to 8 p.m. Expect a taco truck, music and more.

Discount Liquor Milwaukee is offering samples from 3 Floyd’s Brewing from noon to 3 p.m.

Terrapin Beer Co. hands out samples at Discount Liquor Waukesha from noon to 2 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 10

The Fall Fest of Ale returns to Lakefront Brewing (1872 N. Commerce St.) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This means drinks, live music, food and a makers market.

The Tap Yard – Menomonee Falls (W220 N7884 Town Line Rd.) is tapping Revolution Brewing Oktoberfest at 2 p.m. and when you order one you get a stein to keep.
