17 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: June 29-July 3

It’s the second weekend of Summerfest, Fourth of July celebrations are happening, and there are a fair amount of craft beer events to keep an eye on.

Wednesday, June 29

Radix Fermentation brings a few of its funky saisons and sours to Sugar Maple (441 E. Lincoln Ave.) at 4 p.m. Meet brewers Kayla and Adam Thomas and try a flight of their beers.

Beat the Brewer is happening again at WhirlyBall Brookfield (185 S. Moorland Rd.) starting at 6:30 p.m. Meet brewers from Lagunitas Brewing Company and then try to conquer them in WhirlyBall.

The Plant & Sip Succulent Bar comes to The Tap Yard Milwaukee (1555 N. RiverCenter Dr.) at 6 p.m. Sign up for $60 to create a living plant arrangement and enjoy a free beer.

3 Floyds Brewing is taking over the taps at The Tap Yard Brookfield (2925 N. Barker Rd.) at 4 p.m. Expect some great IPAs and a few other oddities.

Thursday, June 30

Explorium Brewpub (5300 S. 76th St.) hosts a Puppy Patio Party. From 3 to 7 p.m. you and your dog can hang on the Explorium patio. The event includes treats for the dogs, raffles and a puppy photo booth.

Try samples from Component Brewing at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from 3 to 6 p.m.

Friday, July 1

Gallery night happens from 5 to 10 p.m. at Gathering Place Brewing Company (811 E. Vienna Ave.). Sip on a beer or two and check out the work of Andre Saint Louis, a mixed media pop artist.

The Beer Garden Road Show comes to Homestead Hollow (N120 W19809 Freistadt Rd, Germantown) and brings with it plenty of great beer from 1840 Brewing. Hours are 4 to 9 p.m.

Amorphic Beer is offering samples at Discount Liquor Milwaukee from 3 to 6 p.m.

Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) is handing out samples from Hinterland Brewery from 3 to 5 p.m.

Saturday, July 2

The Tap Yard Brookfield is hosting a small IPA Fest. Standout IPAs from Maplewood, 3 Floyds and O’so are taking over a few of the taps.

Hacienda Beer Co. (2018 E. North Ave.) has a trio of releases this weekend. Choose from Astonishing Foresight, a blend of oak barrel aged spontaneously fermented beer; From Sand + Stone, a double dry-hopped hazy IPA; and This Is Not a Sandwich, a pilsner.

1840 Brewing’s Beer Garden Road Show heads to Ellsworth Park (600 E. Ellsworth Ln.) from 2 to 9 p.m.

Family Fun Day is happening at The Tap Yard West Bend (Ackerman’s Grove, 4875 County Highway Z). That  means a bounce house, fun games for the kids, and good beer for the adults.

The Tap Yard Waukesha is pouring some great fruit-based beers all day during Fruit Beer Fest. New Glarus Strawberry Rhubarb is hard to beat.

Craft beer pioneer Ommegang Brewery hands out samples at Discount Liquor Milwaukee from 3 to 6 p.m.

Sunday, July 3

It’s National Independent Beer Run Day, and Indeed Brewing (530 S. 2nd St.) is celebrating by releasing a new beer. Staccato is a dry-hopped Italian-style pilsner, which sounds just fine for summer drinking.
