17 Beer Events Brewing in Millwaukee This Week: April 19-22

It’s a big week for beer fans. It includes the Blessing of the Bock at Falcon Bowl, Eagle Park’s Joint Beer Fest and more.

Wednesday, April 19

It’s a big day at Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.). They’re releasing a barrel-aged stout collaboration with Mikerphone Brewing named Hit Single Select Vol. 3. The fun starts at 4 p.m. and includes a visit by Sweet Smoke BBQ.

The guys from Trouble Makers return to Sugar Maple (441 E. Lincoln Ave.) for another tasty beer dinner. Doors open for the four-course dinner at 5:30 p.m.

Thursday, April 20

1840 Brewing Company (342 E. Ward St.) is releasing its yearly collaboration with Eagle Park, Joint IPA. From 4 to 4:20 p.m. drafts are $4.20. If IPAs aren’t your thing they’re also tapping a firkin of Plumpy: Stoned Fruit with habaneros. Hot Box Pizza will also be there to cure the munchies.

MobCraft Beer (505 S. 5th St.) is pairing four beers with four delicious Girl Scout cookies at 7 p.m. Cost is $23.

Friday, April 21

Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) is releasing Swords UP!, a dry-hopped lager, at 5 p.m. The release benefits the Little Warrior Foundation, and 20% of taproom sales on Friday will benefit that worthy cause.

The Estabrook Park Beer Garden (4600 Estabrook Dr.) kicks off this season with an opening ceremony at 6 p.m. The reason to go? Free beer for an hour.

Gathering Place Brewing’s Small Batch Friday beer is a Belgian IPA. It’s available at both the Riverwest (811 E. Vienna St.) and Wauwatosa (7208 W. North Ave.) taprooms.

Indeed Brewing is pouring samples at Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) from 4 to 6 p.m.

Saturday, April 22

Joint Beer Fest at Eagle Park Brewing (S64 W15640 Commerce Center Pkwy., Muskego) is pretty amazing. The beer fest features a wide range of collaborations between Eagle Park and some of the best breweries in the Midwest. Expect barrel-aged beers, a ton of different IPA styles and even seltzer. There’s also a full slate of live music and food. The party runs from noon to 6 p.m.

The annual Maibock Celebration is happening at Bavarian Bierhaus (700 W. Lexington Blvd.) from 2 to 10 p.m. A free keg tapping starts at 3:30 p.m. and live music is scheduled all day. General admission tickets are $5 in advance or $10 at the door.

It’s Doughnut Don day at Vennture Brew Co. (5519 W. North Ave.). The brewery’s imperial doughnut coffee stout, comes in four variants, two of which are barrel aged. They’ll also be pouring a couple of other gems, starting at 11 a.m. The first 100 people who order a Doughnut Don get a free cruller.

1840 Brewing is hosting the Joint IPA Street Party from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. There will be food, live music and the release of Plumpy: Stoned Fruit.

Head to Lakefront Brewery (1872 N. Commerce St.) from 9 a.m. to noon for the Milwaukee Riverkeeper Spring Cleanup. Participants will clean the area around Lakefront, and when the cleaning is done everyone gets a seedling planter and a token for a free beer.

Try samples from Raised Grain Brewing at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from noon to 2 p.m.

Young Blood Brewing offers samples at Discount Liquor Waukesha from noon to 2 p.m.

Sunday, April 23

The 35th annual Blessing of the Bock takes place at Falcon Bowl (801 E. Clarke St.) from noon to 4 p.m. One of Milwaukee’s longest running beer traditions includes sampling of beers from several local and non-local breweries, a homebrew competition, brats from Usingers and more. Lakefront Brewery founder Jim Klisch will be there to bestow his blessings on the beer on hand. The cost for being a pair of this Milwaukee tradition is just $30.

More free beer at Estabrook Park. The beer garden celebrates German Beer Day with a keg tapping at noon. The beer is free while the keg lasts.
