15 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: May 3-7

Enjoy a couple of big beer releases, beer garden openings, Biloba’s birthday and Cinco de Mayo.

Wednesday, May 3

The Tap Yard beer gardens open on Wednesday. This year, Menomonee Falls (W220 N7884 Town Line Rd.) has been added to the list of locations. Check the website or, better yet, download the Tap Yard app for event details all summer.

Other Half Brewery is bringing its beer to Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.). Try four hoppy IPAs from the Brooklyn-based outfit from 4 to 10 p.m.

Thursday, May 4

Preorder is available for two Supermoon Beer releases this week. Middlewest is an oak fermented farmhouse pale ale that was made in collaboration with Sway Brewing & Blending. Commonbier is an amber lager modeled after the California common style. Both can be picked up at Supermoon (3145 S. Howell Ave.) starting on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Sweet Smoke BBQ will be there starting at 5 p.m.

Celebrate the day before Cinco de Mayo with a four-course beer dinner courtesy of Foxtown Brewing at Bistro de Renard (6375 W. Mequon Rd.). Doors open at 5 p.m. and cost is $70.

Friday, May 5

Biloba Brewing (2970 N. Brookfield Rd.) celebrates Cinco de Ginko on its ninth anniversary. Expect some limited beer tappings, food, music and general fun.

The Tap Yard celebrates two years in Waukesha at its new location in Minooka Park (1927 E. Sunset Dr.) from 4 to 9 p.m. The party starts with a tap takeover from Toppling Goliath, live music and food.

Gallery Night at Gathering Place Brewing (811 E. Vienna Ave.) features Josh Leverance’s Lynndale Prints. The event runs from 5 to 10 p.m. and includes live music and food from Twisted Plants from 5 to 8 p.m.

Try beers from Boulevard Brewing at Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) from 3 to 5 p.m.

Saturday, May 6

Central Waters Brewing is doing things right with its barrel-aged 25th anniversary stout, and this weekend they’re releasing a pair of variants at the Milwaukee taproom (1037 W. Juneau Ave.). Copper Label has been aged in Elijah Craig barrels, and Pink Label has been aged in Four Roses barrels. Check the brewery’s Facebook page for release details.

The Tap Yard – Waukesha continues its birthday festivities with a tap event featuring both Revolution Brewing and Central Waters Brewing.

1840 Brewing’s Beer Garden Road Show makes its 2023 debut in Mequon at the Rotary Pavilion (4100 Highland Rd.) from 2 to 8 p.m.

Leinenkugel’s is offering samples at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from noon to 2 p.m.

Sunday, May 7

The Mother’s Day edition of the 53212 Marketplace comes to Amorphic Beer (3700 N. Fratney St.) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Shop from more than 30 vendors, grab a bite from the food truck, and have a beer or two.

Celebrate the German School of Milwaukee, and a German beer or two, at Frühlings Festival taking place at Sugar Maple (441 E. Lincoln Ave.) from noon to 3 p.m.

The Grilled Cheese Food Truck Fest comes to The Tap Yard – Waukesha from noon to 6 p.m. Try grilled cheese sandwiches from a half dozen vendors.
