14 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: Feb. 25-29

Indulge with a handful of craft beer events on Fat Tuesday, or wait until Leap Day to raise a glass to the rare February 29th.

Tuesday, Feb. 25

Celebrate Fat Tuesday at The Brass Tap (7808 W. Layton Ave.) with an Abita tap takeover, and flights of beers and beignets.

Eagle Park Brewing (823 E. Hamilton St.) has a pair of beers being released on Fat Tuesday. Get there at 3 p.m. to pick up four-packs of Born On The Bayou Beignet Pastry Stout and Tiki Dave’s Passion Fruit Hurricane.

The Milwaukee Public Market (400 N. Water St.) is hosting a chili cook-off and beer tasting at 6 p.m. For $15 you can try chili from several market vendors and pair it with beer from the likes of Black Husky, Raised Grain and several other locals.

Wednesday, Feb. 26

Head to Lakefront Brewery (1872 N. Commerce St.) to try a collaboration between Lakefront and Titletown. No. 171 Stock Ale is made with maple syrup and orange peel and registers a potent 10.7% ABV.

Vennture Brew Co. (5519 W. North Ave.) brings beer historian John Harry in to discuss Peoples Brewing and diversity in the brewing community. The discussion starts at 6:30 p.m. and is free.

Thursday, Feb. 27

Beer Academy at Lakefront Brewery focuses on barrel-aged and cellared beers. Riverwest Brewery Syndicate members—Lakefront, Black Husky, Gathering Place and Company Brewing—are bringing some of their cellared brews to the Lakefront Beer Hall at 6 p.m. For $35 you can sample a few and learn about them.

Enjoy the Greater Milwaukee Car and Truck Show in style, while sipping on a craft beer, by attending Sip & Savor. For $25 you get access to beer from nearly 30 breweries and food from almost a dozen different vendors from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Your ticket includes access to the show at the Wisconsin Center (400 W. Wisconsin Ave.)
