12 Things to Do in Milwaukee This Weekend: April 1-3

This week we have a marathon, a puppy shower and more.

1. Think Outside the Bachs

FRIDAY AT 5 P.M. | GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH

First Fridays, a free concert series offered on the first Friday of every month, presents Think Outside the Bachs. The concert will feature local talent Tim Rebers and Maggie Rebers. It will also include laughs, puns and surprises in honor of April Fools! The concert is free to attend.

2. Cassadee Pope: Thrive Tour 2022

FRIDAY AT 8 P.M. | THE RAVE

GRAMMY-nominated, Platinum-certified singer-songwriter, Cassadee Pope, most notably known for her song “Wasting All These Tears” is on tour for her newest album THRIVE. This will be Pope’s 8th appearance at The Rave but her first time headlining as a country singer. Tickets are $20.50.

3. Trailbreaker Marathon

SATURDAY AT 8 A.M. | SCHUETZE RECREATION CENTER

Waukesha’s home-grown running event is back. Participants can choose to run a marathon, a half-marathon or a 5K run/walk. The annual event serves as a fundraiser for the enhancement of city parks, trails, recreation programs and the urban forest.

4. Bunny Hop

SATURDAY AT NOON | CREEKWOOD PARK

The Easter Bunny will be hopping all over Greenfield this Saturday! The hop will start at Creekwood Park and end at Konkel Park. The event will feature games, family friendly entertainment, food trucks, a “Fire & Ice” show by Mad Science and even the chance to take a picture with the Easter Bunny. 

5. Milwaukee River Community Cleanup Day

SATURDAY AT NOON | COMPANY BREWING

Milwaukee craft brewers will be spending their Saturday picking up litter along the Milwaukee River trails in honor of Earth Month. The breweries involved include Amorphic Beer, Black Husky Brewing, Company Brewing, Gathering Place Brewing Company, Lakefront Brewery and Sprecher Brewing Co. Anyone who participates in the clean-up will receive a coupon for a free pint of beer at each of the participating breweries.

6. Elton John Farewell Yellow Brick Road The Final Tour

SATURDAY AT 8 P.M. | FISERV FORUM

After more than half a century as an iconic superstar, Elton John is on his final tour with over 300 concerts worldwide and it’s stopping in Milwaukee. Tickets start at $180.

7. City Center Comedy Show

SATURDAY AT 9 P.M. | SUNSTONE STUDIOS MKE

From the people who brought you Keg Stand Up, Cask Comedy and A Dandy Comedy Show, comes The City Center Comedy Show! Celebrate the city of Milwaukee with a night of comedy from the best established and up-and-coming Milwaukee comedians in the heart of downtown. Tickets are $15.

8. Lisa Curry

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY | THE LAUGHING TAP

Get ready to laugh, internationally touring comedian and TV writer, Lisa Curry is bringing her stand-up show to The Laughing Tap. Tickets are $20.

9. Open House Puppy Shower

SUNDAY AT NOON | RESCUE GANG

Meet and pet adorable puppies at Rescue Gang’s puppy shower. Shower newly rescued puppies with gifts to keep them busy, comfy, full, happy and practicing their potty training skills. All puppies and dogs in attendance will be adoptable.

10. Lynee Arriale

SUNDAY AT 7 P.M.  | THE JAZZ ESTATE 

Internationally acclaimed pianist/composer and Milwaukee native, Lynee Arriale is returning to Wisconsin to celebrate her new album The Lights Are Always On. The performance will also feature bassist John Christensen and drummer Mitch Shiner. Tickets are $20-$27.
