10 Things to Do in Milwaukee This Weekend: Nov. 4-6

See Swan Lake at the Milwaukee Ballet, head to the Zoo for Family Free Day and more this weekend.

1. Milwaukee Ballet’s Swan Lake

ALL WEEKEND | MARCUS PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

The Milwaukee Ballet is performing a classic and beloved ballet this weekend, Swan Lake. Featuring Milwaukee’s Ballet Orchestra, the prestigious show plays multiple times this weekend. Tickets are available for purchase here. 

2. Bloomin’ 2022 at MOWA

ALL WEEKEND | MUSEUM OF WISCONSIN ART

See over twenty different floral installations from local florists and artists throughout the Museum of Wisconsin Art Museum. Art and nature are at the center of this both imaginative and digital exhibit. Admission is free to members or as low as $15 for non-members.

3. Once Upon a Mum

ALL WEEKEND | MITCHELL PARK DOMES 

Head to the Mitchell Park Domes for the last opportunity to see this year’s Mum exhibition, or wait until winter of 2023. The annual display features a colorful array of Chrysanthemums in the Show Dome. 

4. Southeast Wisconsin Festival of Books

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY | UW-MILWAUKEE AT WAUKESHA

The Southeast Wisconsin Festival of Books is back to celebrate its 13th year. Hear from both nationally acclaimed and local authors at various panels on fiction, nonfiction, poetry and more. The event is free and open to the public.

5. Xtreme Raptor Day

SATURDAY FROM 9 A.M.- NOON | SCHLITZ AUDUBON NATURE CENTER

Meet the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center’s 15 resident raptors and participate in different activity stations out on the trails to learn more about the birds of prey, including bird-themed crafts. The event supports the Raptor Program at the center. 

6. Milwaukee County Zoo Family Free Day

SATURDAY FROM 9:30 A.M.-4:30 P.M. | MILWAUKEE COUNTY ZOO

Milwaukee County Zoo is hosting a Family Free Day this Saturday. Admission is no cost, even if you reside outside of Milwaukee County. The parking fee still applies.  

7. Build-a-Book: Riso Notebook Bar

SATURDAY FROM 2-5 P.M. | THE BINDERY

Make your own spiral notebooks with bearbear and The Bindery in this workshop. You get to be creative and customize your notebook, making Riso prints for the front and back covers. Tickets are $60 and include instruction and materials to build two notebooks. 

8. Milwaukee Children’s Choir Give Thanks Concert

SATURDAY AT 4 P.M. | ST. SEBASTIAN PARISH

Enjoy some music and give back at the first concert of the 2022-23 Season for the Milwaukee Children’s Choir. The choir is partnering with the Milwaukee Boys & Girls Club to host a drive for toys, books, art supplies, coats, scarves, hats and more for the Boys & Girls club. The full list of suggested items can be found on the event listing, and organizers ask that you bring new or “like-new” items to donate. Admission is $15. 

9. Grace’s Annual Fine Arts & Craft Festival 

SUNDAY AT 9 A.M. | GRACE CENTER 

The first week of November means that Grace’s Annual Fine Arts & Craft Festival is back, featuring artists from all over Wisconsin. There will be handmade pottery, greeting cards, home decor and more to shop. The first 100 guests receive a free tote, and there will be coffee, tea and espresso drinks. 

10. Hygge: A Pop Up Gallery

SUNDAY FROM 6-9 P.M.  | GLASSNOTE CANDLE BAR 

Enjoy handcrafted cocktails while admiring the art of over 10 different local artists, at Hygge: A Pop Up Gallery. Hygge is a Danish word meaning the cozy comfort of togetherness, and the event and art on display strive to provide that. Admission is free to the public.
