10 Things to Do in Milwaukee This Weekend: March 17-19

Look forward to opening night of two local shows, “The Office” trivia, a Disney dance party and more.

1. Noises Off

OPENS FRIDAY AT 7:30 P.M. | SKYLIGHT MUSIC THEATRE

Michael Frayn’s 1982 play follows the onstage and backstage antics of a play-within-a-play, but Skylight’s spin on the classic comedy will add live cocktail music to the mix. The show opens runs through April 2. Tickets can be purchased online or at the box office.

2. Così Fan Tutte: REMIX

FRIDAY AT 7:30 P.M. AND SUNDAY AT 2:30 P.M. | WILSON THEATRE AT VOGEL HALL

This modern take on Mozart and Da Ponte’s opera will follow six friends exploring the themes of gender stereotypes, fidelity, and attraction through the happenings of a college party in the 1980’s. Tickets are available online.

3. Nineties Night

Joined by special guests Nostalgia Nights and DJ John Bedalov, Milwaukee jukebox band Landline will throw it back to the ’90s with hits from The Cure, Foo Fighters and more. For a St. Patrick’s Day treat, favorites from Irish bands including The Cranberries and U2 will make the setlist. Tickets are available online in advance or at the door.

4. The Office’ Trivia with David Koechner

FRIDAY AT 9:15 P.M. | MILWAUKEE IMPROV

Test your Dunder Mifflin knowledge with Todd Packer himself. Actor David Koechner will be in character for trivia about all things “The Office.” Win prizes, participate in an improv championship challenge and hear behind-the-scenes stories about working on the show. 5. Polar Plunge

SATURDAY AT 11 A.M. | MCKINLEY PARK MARINA

Wake up with a Lake Michigan ice bath! Back on the downtown lakeshore with food, hot cocoa and live music, The Polar Plunge will raise funds for Wisconsin Special Olympics athletes. Registration begins onsite at 8:30 a.m. or online in advance, followed by the opening ceremony at 11 a.m.

6. Plant & Sip Succulent Bar 

SATURDAY AT NOON | INDEED BREWING COMPANY

Test your green thumb at Walker’s Point’s Indeed Brewing as you put together a custom succulent arrangement with materials and guidance provided by Forest Farms, LLC and enjoy a drink or two. Tickets include one free drink. More information is available on the event page.

7. Maple Sugar Days

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY FROM NOON-4 P.M. | WEHR NATURE CENTER

Head to Wehr Nature Center for a sugary afternoon in the woods. Families are invited to learn about Wisconsin’s maple syrup heritage with activities including a hike to the sugarbush, a boil-down demonstration and a warm pancake to drizzle with the fresh syrup. 8. One Night of Queen

SATURDAY AT 7:30 P.M. | MARCUS CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS

Renowned tribute band, Gary Mullen & The Works, will stop by Milwaukee for a celebration of Freddie Mercury and Queen. Sing along to famed hits including, “Under Pressure,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “We Are the Champions” and more. Purchase tickets online.

9. Be Our Guest: 90’s & 00’s Disney

SATURDAY AT 9 P.M. | THE RAVE

Costumes are encouraged for this magical adult dance party. The Rave will be spinning all of the classic tracks from Disney favorites, including hits like “Circle of Life” and “Under the Sea.” The event is for adults 18 and up, and more information can be found online.

10. One Trick Pony Vintage Pop-Up 

SUNDAY FROM 10 A.M.-4 P.M. | THE COOPERAGE

One Trick Pony is back with its spring quarterly pop-up flea. Shop over 20 vendors selling vintage goods and enjoy beverages and music while you browse. Admission is $5 at the door. More information can be found at the event’s Instagram.
