10 New Foods to Taste at the Wisconsin State Fair This Year

Each year the fair brings a spread of unique sweet, salty and strange treats to the Milwaukee Fairgrounds. Here are just a few to try

1. Blue Ribbon Chocolate Bacon Cookies

AVAILABLE AT BUD PAVILLION

For those who want bacon with every meal, this could be a cookie for you. This sweet, savory treat is made with award-winning bourbon barrel-aged Goose Island Bourbon County Stout mixed in with the batter. The double chocolate chip cookie has dried cherry pieces and dark chocolate chips in it that leave you with hints of cinnamon and cayenne spice. Also, the cookie is topped with smoky bacon pieces sure to provide you with a variety of flavor.

Sweet, salty, tart, smoked, spice and more, this item is this fair’s 2021 Sporkies winner! The Glazy Boy is made of two grilled Grebe’s glazed doughnuts. The doughnuts are pressed with two slices of BelGioioso Fontina cheese, brined and slow-smoked pork loin, raspberry whole grain mustard and pickled jalapenos. This dish tastes like it came straight from an Italian restaurant. At Albanese’s Roadhouse you can get Ditalini pasta with three Italian cheeses and breaded with homemade breadcrumbs. It is served with a choice of their signature Vodka sauce or their very own marinara. This is a delicious alternative for people who love pasta but may not want to carry a bowl of noodles around the fair.
