1. Alderaan

Alderaan Coffee makes their flavor syrups, almond milk, yogurt and granola in house. Stop by this corner coffee shop for the house made treats and stay for the bright and sunny vibes.

2. Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co

Anodyne Coffee Roasting Company has multiple locations in Bay View, Walker’s Point, Wauwatosa and the Milwaukee Public Market. This small batch roaster has operated out of Milwaukee since 1999.

3. Avenue Coffeehouse

911 MILWAUKEE AVE. | 414-304-8060

Avenue Coffeehouse opened in 2016 in South Milwaukee. This coffee shop has a cozy indoor atmosphere and cute outdoor seating available when the weather is nice. And fun flavor alert – this café has a Butterbeer latte!

4. Canary Coffee Bar

If you’re downtown, try Canary Coffee bar. This beautiful café has coffee, bakery, plants and sunlight for you to enjoy. And if you’re not sure what coffee you’d like, get a flight of three to try.

5. Coffee Makes You Black

With the motto, “in the community, for the community,” Coffee Makes You Black embraces culture of the African diaspora, according to their website. Stop in to enjoy coffee, community and a full breakfast menu.

6. Colectivo Coffee

Colectivo Coffee has locations throughout Milwaukee and surrounding areas. Try their coffee that’s roasted right here in Riverwest or grab some bakery made fresh daily at their own Troubadour Bakery in Bayview.

7. Full of Beans Cafe

Owned by two UW-Milwaukee alumni, Full of Beans Café has more than just coffee and tea. The café hosts maker and craft nights, book clubs and more! Oh, and did we mention that they have “Waffle Weekends” on Saturdays and Sundays?

8. Hawthorne Coffee Roasters

4177 S. HOWELL AVE. | 414-331-1382

Hawthorne Coffee Roasters on Milwaukee’s Southside has coffee, community and barrel proof coffees that are stored unroasted in a bourbon barrel for 28 days before they’re roasted. Sounds good to us!

9. Interval

1600 N. JACKSON ST.

Interval’s goal is to serve fresh, locally sourced ingredients in a space where their neighborhood can come together. Their coffee is roasted by the owner and the food features Scandinavian-inspired plates and homemade pastries.

10. Joy Ride Café

If you like coffee, beer and bikes, Joy Ride Café might be your new go-to coffee shop. This café has locations in Fox Point and Bay View, and they’ve worked on several Milwaukee-based bicycle-related projects to carry out their vision, “a world where everyone enjoys their ride on a bicycle.”

11. Likewise Coffee

Likewise Coffee with their sunny, plant-filled café is located in the Third Ward. Formerly known as Wonderstate Milwaukee, the café serves coffee and fresh bakery that’s made in-house.

12. Pilcrow

416 W. WALNUT ST.

This coffee shop and tasting room has coffee, a lineup of cold brews and a goal to start the day with positive energy – and coffee. The pilcrow is the paragraph symbol in editing and they see it as a symbol of new thoughts and ideas and a fresh start.

13. Roast Coffee Company

2132 E. LOCUST ST.

Roast has grown since it began in 2004, but their coffee obsession remains. Enjoy fun flavors like April in Paris or a Caramel Cosmo while you relax at this East Side café.

14. Rochambo Coffee & Teahouse

Rochambo Coffee & Teahouse has been on the East Side for over 20 years. They offer ethically sources, fairly traded, organic, pesticide free, non-GMO products on their menu, and the place itself offers a cozy and colorful atmosphere.

15. Space Time Coffee

819 N. MARSHALL ST.

Space Time Coffee is a small scale, made-to-order, micro-roaster, and beyond coffee, they also support independent artists in the community. You can find them downtown inside the Dubbel Dutch Hotel.

16. Stone Creek Coffee

Stone Creek Coffee offers farm-to-cup coffee for “coffee geeks” to enjoy. They have multiple locations throughout Milwaukee and roast their beans downtown at their factory location. They also offer classes to the public on home brewing, espresso and latte art.

17. The Daily Bird

This coffee shop is yellow and full of positive affirmations! Located in Riverwest, this is the place to grab a cup of coffee, some lunch (like a Cuban sandwich or a vegan Reuben) and a bit of inspiration.

18. Valentine Coffee Roasters

Valentine Coffee Roasters has bright and lively locations in Milwaukee and in Oak Creek. The small-batch roasters offer “specialty” coffee that has been rigorously graded and is traceable.

19. Vennture Brew Co. 

5519 W. NORTH AVE. 

The “Brew” in the name here has a delicious double meaning. Not only does Vennture roast its own beans for a full suite of coffee drinks, it also makes its own beer. The flagship saison, The Heights, is an homage to the Washington Heights neighborhood that welcomed the business four years ago.
