What Is Art Smart’s Dart Mart in Milwaukee? | Milwaukee Magazine

Why You Should Check out This Quirky East Side Shop

It’s been serving the niche hobbyist since 1985.

It’s fitting that Art Smart’s Dart Mart & Juggling Emporium (1695 N. Humboldt Ave.) opened on April Fool’s Day. Besides selling the aerial amusements mentioned in the business’s name, it’s also the place to get that whoopee cushion, fake vomit and wind-up chattering teeth you’ve been looking for. It’s been servicing the niche hobbyist since 1985.  Need some kites? Golf discs? A boomerang? They’ve got those, too.

It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!

“Kids love this place,” says manager Tim Drury, who was with owner Jim Boland the liquid-fueled night at nearby Wolski’s that the shop got its offbeat name. (No, there is no actual Art Smart.) “Somehow it stuck.”
