East Town’s Jazz in the Park celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2016 and Milwaukee Magazine is partnering with the iconic Downtown Milwaukee event for all sorts of giveaways and other goodies throughout the summer!
On Aug. 11, Jazz in the Park welcomes The Jimmys to the stage. The Jimmys, based in Madison, aren’t your typical blues band. With awards and reviews rolling in for their new album “Hot Dish,” The Jimmys are primed for the world stage. The Jimmys “have mined pure R&B gold” with “Hot Dish,” a record so full of sultry swagger you won’t be able to keep your feet still. Their onstage charisma and red-hot horn section are sure to please any crowd. Frontman Jimmy Voegeli has made a name for himself touring across the Midwest, northward to Canada and even in Europe with The Crashers and the grammy-nominated Westside Andy & Mel Ford Band. The Jimmys are ready to bring their signature funk to Cathedral Square. Come out to see what they’re all about.
