No Studios released episode 4 in its mini documentary series, “Creating Milwaukee,” which highlights Milwaukee-based artists sharing personal stories of their lives and culture.
The fourth episode features Elisabeth Roskopf, a dancer, choreographer, performer, educator, pianist and mother. Roskopf was born in South Korea and adopted and raised in Appleton. Her goal is to share her journey for home, belonging and sense of self through movement.
“For the very first time, I would like to share my story as an adoptee,” says Roskopf. “I had this sense of urgency to know more about my home, essentially, that was taken from me. Being a dancer, being an artist, it really allows you to strip yourself, be completely bare. You’re really showing your wounds and your secrets on stage.”
The episode was released Nov. 9, and a launch event is set to air on WISN, on Nov. 10 at 11:40 a.m., featuring an in person interview and performance live from Nō Studios. For more information, visit nostudios.com.
