Adi Armour is a Milwaukee-born-and-raised musician, whose style crosses hip-hop, R&B, gospel and more. “The journey from a DJ to an MC to a singer – that’s been my whole journey through my musical career,” Armour says. “I think everything is inspired by two of my influences, who are Donny Hathaway and D’Angelo. I always wanted my music to match the soul that was coming from my voice. … People call it hip-hop church. … It’s going to stick with you.”
Armour released a new album, I’m Try’n To Tell You Somethin’ in October. His previous album, The Hampton House came out in 2019. Both are available on all streaming platforms.
Fokused is a four-piece band that’s music spans hip-hop, rock and more. The band is made up Jcdaprynce, who plays keyboard and sings, Keem pocket, who plays percussion, Whoisnota, who is a keyboard player, rapper, singer and producer, and Truth, a solo guitar player. “We have a lot of different perspectives, but that’s what makes our band unique,” says Whoisnota.
